Somewhat back on topic, as I've said before I'm kind of looking to get an SSD, but have heard that one should only have the OS and apps on it, move the pagefile to another drive, etc since SSDs have a limited number of write cycles. This was back when they first came out. Is this still a "problem"?...

It would be nice to see some more competition and inovation in this category. The two keyboards reviewed are not much different then a mouse/keyboard I got in about 2001. It is beyond me why logitech does not make a Harmony with a qwerty keyboard, some sort of mouse, IR for the Home Theater and usb...

Re: Best value GPS unit?

Greetings, I'm interested in hearing about your experience with GPS map/navigation units, and which one you would recommend as having the best value, without costing an arm and a leg. Is screen size the most important thing, or ease of use (not distracting you from driving), or good voice instructi...

The case (pun intended) dictates that approach. The Fusion Max is made for gamers. It's main feature is the size—big enough to fit large graphics cards and many hard disks. If you don't need powerful graphics cards and/or a RAID array of more than two drives, the Fusion will do you just fine, and...

I think the whole hybrid thing really only works in an urban environmen with a lot of braking and accelerating. That's actually incorrect. Braking and accelerating is bad for any vehicle, even hybrids. The electric motor cannot provide enough power alone to get hybird vehicles (e.g. Prius) up to sp...

Toyota initially lost money on the Prius when the first generation model hit the market in 2000 (in the U.S.). They did not market it, other than through grass-roots organizations and the Internet. Instead of paying for marketing, Toyota took pre-orders for the Prius on the Internet in order to gaug...

One other way to save those companies would be for the world to buy a lot of American cars.... Personally, I would need a substantial salary increase and a complete change in environmental ethics to make such a purchase. Also, along with the salary increase I would also need to work part-time, as I...

From ABC News: The CEOs of the big three automakers flew to the nation's capital yesterday in private luxurious jets to make their case to Washington that the auto industry is running out of cash and needs $25 billion in taxpayer money to avoid bankruptcy. The CEOs of GM, Ford and Chrysler may have...

It's fast, but I would recommend that you look at the 5400 RPM WDs if you want silent. According to Western Digital, their 7,200 RPM laptop drives have lower acoustics than their 5,400 RPM drives. Although, there might be some incentive for WD to fudge these numbers. All the more reason for an SPCR...

I think bail-outs that are designed to save corporations are synonymous to automotive engineering defects that promote the sales of parts and associated repair and labor costs. Our history has shown that decisions made in a court of law have set legal precedents for future cases. Should the same app...

When I was overseas the best way to get around this was to have it shipped to someone in the U.S., and then have that person ship it to you. However, this is difficult if you don't know anyone in the U.S.

I like the Honda Insight: it has several good aero features: flush upper "grill", narrow and sleek mirrors, a majority of the wheels are actually a flush plastic cover, and the rear spoiler is a pretty crisp. If they do well on the underside, it may actually have a better Cd than the Prius. It is s...
