My t-Balancer is now back and fixed! It seems to be working well and I'd say it is a refurbished unit, not the one I sent (no problem at all with being refurbished as long as it works). I sent it on January 19th and it came back yesterday, that means 19 days turn around time. It was sent forth and b...

Shipping from Spain to Austria was 8 € (about $10). This is the cheapest rate and delivery takes three days.

I can't tell you about turnaround yet, I hope it doesn't take too long.

Thanks again for your answer. I've done all that you suggest and more in terms of software and USB but I didn't remember what was the power up LED sequence. In mine only the USB LED lights when plugged to USB, all the other LEDs in the T-Balancer are off even at start up. The LEDs in the temperature...

Thanks for your ideas, but I have had no success so far. I've tried in different USB 2.0 ports, through a USB 1.1 hub (I read somewhere that the T-Balancer doesn't like USB 2.0 ports) and with a laptop that only has USB 1.1. The result is always the same. And when unplugged, the fans stay always at ...

Dead mCubed T-Balancer

One month ago I turned on my computer after a long weekend off and I immediately noticed that the fans connected to my T-Balancer didn't make the usual turn on noises (stop - full speed for a few seconds - stop). Instead, the fans stayed at full speed all the time. When trying to connect with the so...

By "smooth" I mean that the speed and voltage transitions have intermediate steps instead of changing suddenly between extreme values. The readouts in the program change once per second and you can see quite often intermediate multipliers and voltages. This is the same behavior that the AMD driver h...

RMClock - Best Cool'n'Quiet like utility

If you have not tried it yet, it is an alternative to the standard C'n'Q drivers that in my case has the best of all worlds. http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml To be more specific, I have a Gigabyte K8NS Pro with and A64 3000+ Newcastle CG O/C to 240 x 10. I'm not sure if the right term is whine, but it does some noise at idle. I'd say it's white noise centered at low frecuencies, compared to a hum (tone at low freq) or to a whine (tone at high freq). I also have an older WD that has a similar noise (I know because it shuts down after 10 minutes). Bot...

Of course that's the best option. I wouldn't put a good 70 mm fan if I can avoid it, it's better a 80 mm one just because you have so many people testing them and telling you which one is the best one for you.

The problem is that I can't find the 70 to 80 mm adapters in Spain.

I just used one of the screws. Other two were stuffed with some silicone gaskets and the third one was left unused. It seems to be quite solid, although I know it isn't a perfect solution.

The HSF are made by Ajigo. You can find more information in their web page and some reviews in Frostytech, although none are too detailed and it's difficult to find exactly what HSF is the one you have. For the record, I have an A64 3000+. The HSF included has a 70x15 fan that is thermoregulated and...

My temporary solution until the XP-90 comes to Spain has been to replace the 70x15 noisy fan with a 80x25 fan that I already had (made by Colorful). Be aware that the CPU can change speeds 30 times per second but the power circuits in your MB may not cope with those sudden power load changes. This may be why you have options to set lag times.

You may be right. Changes with Clockgen are instant (i.e. from 10X to 5X) but CnQ has steps in the middle. It is not easy to track them with CPUz because it's readouts don't refresh fast enough but I have seen 9X at least once. Also, with CrystalCPUID you can set some timings and delays. I'll try th...

Very good feedback, meglamaniac. My load temperature is about 58C, more than 20 degrees above the idle temperature. The Papst seem to work better with the electronic attenuator according to the mCubed fans list. This means that they aren't so good with PWM.

I haven't tested them, so that I can't tell you how they work from a noise perspective. Check in the Fans & Control threads.

According to Maik it seems that the attenuator converts PWM to DC, but the message is a bit confusing. In any case, there are some good brains behind this box and this company. The PWM is smoothed, that may explain why we all seem to find a good frequency for the fans to work quiet. From this answer...
