I assume you were getting lock ups and reboots running it fanless? That's why you said it was too hot, right?

Coolmax isn't exactly a tiny company, with their very popular Targus line, and they've made a fanless model.

I notice games sound much better w/ EAX 4 compared to EAX 2. But I cannot notice a quantifiable difference between playing a CD through my audigy 2 to my gigaworks speakers from playing a CD on my denon stereo to my mission speakers. I'd say sure, they're different, but I can't definitely say that o...

Yes... Redo the TIM everytime you remove the heatsink. Microscopic dust can get onto the paste, and can adversely affect heat transfer. Explain to me why dust would get on the TIM when you removed the affixed heatsink, but not when you applied fresh TIM. It doesn't make sense. Either way, you can't...

I think it's silly to have a reserator and not get the vga water block when you're on the verge of a fanless system. :P

Also, have you decoupled your HD?

If only they'd deal with the resample issue... I would expect resampling to 48khz in the Audigy 3 as well. The fact is, more small time developers benefit from it than audio enthusiasts are hurt by it. The good outweighs the bad. Creative's official response is that 48khz is an industry standard; a...

Simply put, there's nothing out there, aside from Soundstorm (motherboard exclusive) that can encode things to a DD signal for your reciever. Any other sound card you can get will give you 2 channel only in all applications that don't have DD or DTS encoding. You did bring some good news in letting ...

The truth is, most of the higher wattage PSUs aren't really equipped to deal with more heat, it's just that the lower watter PSU are overequipped to deal with what they've got. That's why there's generally no problems swapping in a slower fan.
