As an evil ploy to force you to buy new hardware, well of course it is

I looks unused in the pic. You can us it as is, just make sure there's not a clear protective film on it (doesn't look like it in the pic) or you can clean it off with 90% (or higher) isopropol alcohol or acetone: TIP->don't use "nail polish remover" acetone as it will leave a nasty oily film on the...

The sandblasting definately gave it "the look", very industrial, I like it.

The shroud for the fan is a good idea for better airflow through the core and noise reduction.

If one could get a solid left hand panel I'd like to try this case with the Silverstone fanless PS. Seems, to me, like it would be pretty easy to get decent air-flow through the power supply with even more positive pressure created with solid side panel using quiet, low speed fans. Hmmm....... ........

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned it already, the better this beastie works, the more heat that will have to be evacuated from the case > more airflow needed > more noise potential....it's a vicious circle.....dam I hate circular logic :) thinks about going back to water cooling.........Hmmmm......

I'm for it, preferably if a bios flash would let me use it in my current mobo. Has anyone plugged one of these into a desktop board just to see what happens? Pentium-M (Banias) processors will not work on regular Socket 478 mobos. They can only be used on a mobo that's designed for them. Pentiun 4 ...

Dual channel is the only way to go. I planned on getting a "quad pumped" P4 board later and that was part of the decision.

It's all about the timings and what your mobo will support.

The voices in my head warn me of using passive cooling on my lowly Prescott but I think it might be worth a try with a Northwood if you can get sufficient airflow across it.

Edit: Of course I'm refering to the XP-120, at least that's what the voices are telling me

I seem to remember it being faster than early Windows versions but not supported by anyone and sorta faded away.

7. 25 years from now you start your own cult which worships a giant all-copper heatsink moulded into the shape of (surprisingly enough)... a heatsink. You claim it has mystical powers and conduct ritual sacrifices in it's presence which involve waving lots of small plastic fans around and making bi...
