The 40mm fan on the Northbridge heatsink is easily the loudest component in my system, and quite hot too. My X800GTO runs @ 60 C at idle and 75-80 C under load - this is with a Zalman VF700cu @ 5v. If the fan is @ 12v, it's about 40-45 C idle and 60 C load. Clock and mem speeds, and voltages are all at defaults. Ambient temp is ~25C.

It's PCI powered - yeah I think the new drivers are doing something funny.. darn ATI..

To clarify, it was still crashing, but it wasn't powering down completely.. it was the "regular" type of crashing w/ the screen freezing and the keyboard and mouse locked out, etc.. I reinstalled the drivers clean and so far it hasn't crashed.. so it looks like it was both the PS and the drivers.. b...

Well I just installed a new Seasonic S12 (430W) and it still crashes.. I will fiddle with some BIOS settings, try the card in another PC and then get an exchange if that doesn't work..

There's probably some place that sells cables like that, but the only way I know would be to make your own.. with the 2x5 connector housing, crimp pins and some 24 AWG wire. I could make some but I'm out of parts at the moment.

I had the same fan that came with one of their Socket 478 HS's - I never used it as a case fan, but it seemed a bit louder than it was rated, so I sticked with my Nidecs. Haven't plugged it in in a while though, so I don't remember anything specific.
