need recommendation for replacement card
So my current video card is dying, due to reasons I won't go into, but basically I'm looking for a replacement that's comparable in quietness & performance. My current card is a 8800 GT with a Zalman VF700-Cu, the fan running at the full 12v. I don't play games that often anymore, so I don't need an...

Quietly cooling Northbridge on ECS Nforce 570
The 40mm fan on the Northbridge heatsink is easily the loudest component in my system, and quite hot too. I tried replacing it with a Zalman NB-47 but it crashed after about 2 mins - a bit surprising as although it's passive, it has way more surface area than the stock HS. What are my other options,...

OK temps for X800GTO?
My X800GTO runs @ 60 C at idle and 75-80 C under load - this is with a Zalman VF700cu @ 5v. If the fan is @ 12v, it's about 40-45 C idle and 60 C load. Clock and mem speeds, and voltages are all at defaults. Ambient temp is ~25C.

To clarify, it was still crashing, but it wasn't powering down completely.. it was the "regular" type of crashing w/ the screen freezing and the keyboard and mouse locked out, etc.. I reinstalled the drivers clean and so far it hasn't crashed.. so it looks like it was both the PS and the drivers.. b...

video card busting power supply?
So I just installed an ATI Radeon X800GTO yesterday and after 10 mins of Call of Duty 2, the PC shuts down completely - I'm assuming this is the auto-shut off from drawing too much power. After this, the same thing happens when loading up any game as soon as it gets to some graphics-intensive stuff....

I'm running a P4 3.0GHz Prescott on a MSI PT880 Neo-LSR mobo with 1 GB of PC2100, and an 80 GB Seagate Barracuda ATA IV, on Windows XP Pro. Nothing is overclocked and my current vid card is a Sapphire Radeon 9600 ("regular" version) w/ 256 MB and some old Zalman heatpipe passive heat sink thing, I c...

Good quiet video card under $150?
My Radeon 9600 isn't quite cutting it anymore, since I am running at 1920x1200 (Dell 2405FPW). I've been out of the loop for a while with the latest computer hardware.. what would be a good quiet card under $150? And it has to be ATI, since I have the ATI HDTV Wonder, unless there is some hack somew...

hot hot Radeon 9600
How hot does everyone's 9600's get? I keep hearing that they run quite cool, but I have had 2, and they are near burning to the touch (with the case open). The first was a Connect3D 9600 and the second a Sapphire with a Zalman ZM50-HP. I also get occasional screen corruption like jittering and flash...

overheating video card messing up DVI?
OK I got a new LCD monitor and after hooking it up to the DVI, it starts acting all funky - screen blanks out momentarily, shakes, has some lines going across like interference, dims and brightens again... all only with the DVI connection (VGA is OK).. and mostly when there are a lot of things movin...

Is there any noise bothering you atm? Care to explain how did you mount a 120mm fan on the PAL8942? The noisiest components in order from noisy to quiet are: Seagate Barracuda IV 120mm CPU fan 120mm PS fan As for the fan, I bought a 120-80mm fan adapter from svc.com. I also just bought a handful of...
