My Antec Smart Power 450W from the bundled Antec Sonata 2 went dead after 11 months. Luckily for the 3 years warranty, I managed to replace it with another new one. I'm just concern what would happen after another year of usuage.

Just got my order in today, I've ordered the standard mutemat in order to save shipping costs, planning to add in some barrier with it. The package came in a medium sized box, pretty heavy duty and I was surprised to find the mutemat is covered with a layer of bubble wrap...not bad for shipping some...

The problem you've encountered is that the fan speeds up even after you turn the knob all the way down. It has been the case for the aerogate 2 and i couldn't stand it, I just sold it away.

On a serious note, it seems that Thermaltake has been coming out alot of heatsinks n cases for the market periodically (they're probably very rich), most of them having radical designs. Is the aluminium sheet touching the hdd cage? From the first picture it seems like it does which i suspect causes the rattling noise. The entire thing should be suspended...
Anyway good idea on the heatsink part, you might want to bend the aluminium against the table to get a better bends

I too have one of these fans, quite readily available here...but when running, there's a noticeable bearing noise which goes "sssshh" Still prefer the panaflo though, less bearing noise.

Hmm yeah this psu looks really good, tight efficiency! I was thinking about those Lian Li V series casings and Bluefront's venturi mod, about how the exhaust air would cool the back aluminium of the psu. Perhaps with positive airflow it will work even better?
