will a gigabit ethernet card perform as fast as an onboard LAN chip (integrated to the motherboard), or would the pci slot introduce some bottleneck?

dell lcd blue channel faulty

anyone ever seen a problem like this or have any idea how to fix it? my much-loved monitor (dell 2001FP) has developed a big urine stain down the left side of the screen. R channel and G channel both seem to operating fine, but every second pixel on the blue channel is dead for a big vertical bar - ...

wow, i know it's an old post, but what i want to ask is still relevant - do you need to ground the suspension? i have the zalman heat pipes and it's grounded to the case - beside being separated with rubber. thanks, Dan. no. they are grounded through the cable, you can verify it yourself with an oh...

Re: Unforced airflow through a fanless PSU

The question I have now is..... Can a fanless PSU (such as the Silverstone ST30NF) cool its self enough without any forced air flow? To clarify, I dont mean inside a PC at this point (with the associated ambiant heat inside), but sat outside the case with just its own heat to deal with and allowed ...

elastic suspension makes a surprisingly big improvement but you probably can't fit it inside the tight case. i don't think you will be happy with any 3.5" drive. however since there is a 3.5" bay you will be able to fit a 2.5" in there for sure, you can buy 3.5" sized mounts for notebook drives. if ...

hi, it's not a proper review, but there is some mention of it in the HFX mini article http://www.silentpcreview.com/article678-page1.html The first component that I listened closely to was mCubed's new EF28 power brick which they introduced in our interview with them back in August. It's basically a...

seagate barracuda IV are slightly better than samsung p80, but you may have trouble finding one they are quite old now. you could also use a 80GB notebook drive, this will be quieter, e.g. samsung MP0804H (2.5", ATA100, 5400rpm, 8MB cache) with a small adapter.

Re: What's so special about the Reserator?

Can someone explain to me the fascination of the Reserator as a water cooling system. IMV, it is seriously flawed as an engineering design. A RESERvoir is a body of water in a tank. A radiATOR is a device for rejecting heat. (Wrongly named - it is actually a convector.) Put the two together and you...

yes, no problem, harddrives are low power devices only consuming a few watts during operation, and 2 isn't 'many' anyway.
(my st30nf is running 3 big hard disks and a more hungry cpu just fine)
