I have one more question, regarding to the design of this circuit. In my circuits class, I worked with a Hewlett-Packard "Triple Power Supply" which had five binding posts on the front, one for +18V, one for COM (basically 0V), one for +20V, and one for -20V, plus an earth ground terminal. Working ...

Hi Double D
If you need somewhere to host your pics you could try any of the following . . .

There are no doubt countless others but these were the ones hidden away in my bookmarks.

http://www.dorothybradbury.co.uk Has been mentioned before, but I really have to recommend this one. Very good service! Shipping costs for 4 fans to Finland was 2€. You can hardly send a christmas card for that price here.. Yeah, I bought a few panaflo's from her a couple of months ago. Very...

Nice setup. :) Only things I would say is your wiring could be improved and do you know what temp your HDD is running at? Creating an air duct for the PSU will be very hard because the intake hole is facing down rather than towards the front of the case. Just means you have less space to work. You m...

Although your diagram shows both the right side and back panels swung open you probably wouldn't need them both open at the same time and I don't see why your design wouldn't be solid with any one panel open. It would be difficult to have the top panel attached to the back as it breaks in half down ...

My road to (near) silence
Since I first posted here I've been upto quite a bit and I believe that for this computer at least my journey to silence is almost at it's end. I've created 4 pages detailing what I've done and how successful it's been on my website . These pages aren't as complete as I would have liked as I only ha...

Either that or have some mechanism by which the motherboard can be removed from the right side of the case. The diagrams are looking much better now. What program are you using? Glad to see you've dropped the unneeded drives as well. :) I don't know how practical it would be in terms of alignment bu...

Ok, let me get this right. The black boxes are the 5.25 inch drives, the blue the 3.5 inch HDD's. The orange box is the PSU mounted vertically so the 120mm fan sucks air over the HDD's. That air is then directed up over the scarlet air outlet hopefully sucking air out by the ventury (or is it ventur...

Dial-up friendly version of above pic
Q1. I doubt it, thats a fairly open vent as it is.
Q2. I have no experience with fanless PSU's so can't really comment here. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you some good advice.

1. It depnds on what voltage range the mb can supply and what range of voltages you want. If the mb can do the full range you think you'll need you won't need them, if no then it might be an idea. 2. Well I don't have an athlon 64 and haven't read much about them but I would imagine you would be abl...

Well you could easily drop the idea of a solid state hard drive. You need the hard drive to be near the CPU rather than near you. As for the keyboard and mouse I don't see a problem with those being wireless but I'm a little less sure about the Cd drives and monitor. Would there be enough bandwidth ...

Although the best way to reduce the heat produced is to use less power hungry components you may also like to consider the reverse of this with your hot air vented out of the room. You'll reduce your airflow so would need to monitor the temps in your case but most of the hot air from your computer c...

No I don't have a windowed case, and I don't want one. I don't really see the point of them myself. If I need to see in my case I will probably also need to be fiddling with the inside of my case and I can't do that through perspex. Perhaps if I was redecorating my room and was aiming for a high-tec...

What are your grills like? Unless they are really open you won't be getting anywhere near 32 cfm from your fans. When running Prime95 had the temperature plateaued? I normally wait for the temperature to stabilise but I may just be sadistic. First of all I would replace the fan in the PSU and build ...

Is that the temp measured by the sensor on the motherboard or by direct measurement? Either way I would not consider that a problem. As long as your components can sufficiently dissipate the heat they produce then I don't see why that should be a problem. Whats the temperature of your CPU? You menti...

What are your temperatures at the moment? There is no point adding additional fans if your system is relatively cool. I'm actually thinking of replacing the fan in my PSU with a panaflo L1A and putting in a duct from the top 5.25 inch drive. Where the duct should 'sprout' from your case depends on h...
