This basically happens on Asus boards when no fan is connected to the CPU fan header, the fan is defective or the board cannot read its RPM signal for soem other reason (too high or too low). If the fan is actually working you can just turn of CPU fan RPM monitoring in the hardware monitor in BIOS o...

Been lurking here for ages :) I don't have any 140mms, I just know that the Noiseblockers PKs/PLs are really popular with the guys at Harwareluxx. And these guys are actually talking about how to silence a Laing DDC 3.1/350 pump and how different tops greatly affect the noise it makes - so they know...

Yeah, the noise they make is quite "inoffensive" compared to the noise that most other fans make.

But mine are definitely not inadubile at low RPMs.

Are you using them on the lowest setting of the fan mate?

Did I get a bad batch of Gentle Typhoons?

After waiting for them to become available in Germany for ages, I finally got some GT 1450s from outside Germany. My problem is that even at 500 RPM they all still make a very noticeable bearing noise, causing them to not be inaudible from a distance of about 30cm/1ft. Other fans like my Noisblocker...

The PL uses the same bearing as the Multiframe, which is definitely a tad better than the bearing the XL fans use. I have two XL3s and one Multiframe, and the Multiframe is definitely better (but not quite as good as the Be Quiet USC, perfect bearing on that one!). The thing about it being developed...

AAM and nforce IDE drivers: How to set AAM?

I have downloaded the Acoustic management utility from Samsung but it doesn't recognize any of my two Samsung drives. I suspect this is because I am using the nvidia IDE drivers instead of the standard Windows drivers. I cannot use the boot floppys because the floppy controller on my mainboard is br...

Seasonic SS-400FT and Seasonic SS-400FB, same thing?

In Germany there is currently just one dealer selling Super Tornado PSUs and he's got both a Seasonic SS-400FB (Retail) and a Seasonic SS-400FT (Bulk) listed; the Seasonic SS-400FT is about $25 cheaper. Judging from seasonic's website theay appear to be the same, but are they?

Thanks

How do I tell which motor my Samsung has?

I just got me SP1614N Samsung HD and it makes a "whiny" high pitched sound. How do I tell if I have one with the "whiny" motors? Just want to make sure that it is the motor, because if it's not I can RMA it.

Thanks

The first review of a German hardware site (twinsbyte.de) is very positive. The cooler is mounted on a Geforce FX 5900 LX BIOS modded to 5950 Ultra speeds. The GPU temp during Windows with the stock cooler was 44C and with the VM-101 it was 42C (they said they had a "good case ventilation"). When th...

I got twenty Chinaflo 80mm L1s from B.G. Micro at $2.65 a piece and they all make clicking noises. On the other hand I got one Chinaflo 80mm L1 from Dorothy in the UK and it does not make any clicking noises. The one I got from Dorothy is a L-1A while the B.G. Micros are L-1J. The ones from B.G. Mic...

Re: Calling All Good Fans!

4) measure airflow for these best fans at 5, 7, 10 and 12V Interesting project! We've had something similar over at silenthardware.de but they had no means of objectively measuring airflow. How do you intend to do that? I could contribute some Levicom Ceramic 2000rpm fans, which are, in Germany, co...
