i think it's common on some samsung LCD monitors my previous 931BW had the same problem. made in maylasia. humming sound with brightness under 78%. i had it on 50% before but can't take it no more. at 80% it's not TOO bright and the humming is gone. also my speakers would hum for a while after power...

Hi folks, At this point, while I'm still thrilled with the performance I'm getting in games, the MSI fan is easily the loudest thing in my system. i belive the fan on the video card is set to run at 30% of full speed u should be able to tune it down to say 20~25% and see how it goes, i think i saw ...

I'm locking for a new video card (atm 7600gs) and saw this one and was very interested in the cooling solution, but it doesnt have ram coolers, but i have some here at home, they are 6mm (millimeters) high. got the card last night it's rather quiet to be put in a game pc, i could barely hear it over my cpu fan. core temp was a little over 60'C @ 700/1000 running atitool. my only game installed is wow, which doesn't seem to appreciate the upgrade much, it shows a little improvement over my 7950GT. 3dmar...

Subjective sound assessment 1) It's slightly louder than the AC NV Silencer I had previously. 2) It's slightly louder than the single Yate Loon D12SL-12 at 1200 rpm 3) It's much quieter than my suspended Seagate 3.5" HD's seeks. 4) Its noise is characterized by a soft whoosh - sounds like mainly ai...

PSU cage. A real bummer, and it escapes me how any designer could so bluntly have failed to see its flaws, however; it looks to be around 10 – 15mm space between the PSU and the top of the chassis which would make it possible to flip the unit around and go duct version ala Solo (unless you wish t...

Re: MSI AM2 with an EE 5200+ AMD CPU an ok start?
AMD is still a much better value than Intel. Show me an intel CPU that matches the speed of a same-priced athlon without overclocking. At any level the athlon offers more value. Low end, and mid range as well. 2140 is $87, runs 1.6 GHz. For $3 less, you can get an athlon 64 x2 4400+ @2.3 GHz which ...

Re: Ninja Airflow Testing....with Conclusions.
nice work my 2 cents though, would you consider your set up with a passive cooled video card and north bridge (something like hr-05), i'm wondering in that case, the hot air from video card/nb would bring down the advantage of top fan blowing up. also, would you consider the set up inside a case wit...

Re: MSI AM2 with an EE 5200+ AMD CPU an ok start?
Just wondering if the 65 watt 5200+ is a good CPU to start with. I currently have an older AMD64 3000+ at 89 watts. I figure an MSI motherboard with built-in video would be good. Also looking at the MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital for use in the system. It has HTPC capabilities which is handy for me, and als...

(2) I noticed that both HP and Dell Desktop are extremely silent. I cannot even tell whether it's on or not. How could that be possible? As far as I know, they use relatively inexpensive products compared to mine. Their low-end or mainstream PCs come with relatively simple metal case and do not pos...

why not review the S3 board? S3 rev 3.3 is about 1/4 cheaper than DS3, and still has 6 phase power and solid caps for CPU. In the UK the price is now about the same if you can get them at all. The P35 board pricing also starts at only slightly above this which makes me wonder what the point of buyi...

Re: Orthos - How Do You Use It?
just run "small fft" and "blended" leave all other settings
download intel tat to check your core temp
might want to run prime if you want to test stability. orthos doesn't seem to stress the system as much as tat, and more tolerant to possible errors than prime 95.
