Non working Barracuda IV
Hi I realize it's a bit OT but I chanced uppon a Seagate B. IV a 40gb specimen, however it doesn't spin up, as if there is no power at all... which seems like a big but might be a solvable problem? Is there any way to fix it (it's out of warranty), has anyone heard or head any exp. with these? Thanks.

There should be no problem 'ripping' the said heatsink+fan off as long as you do it carefully (look at the various post talking about it, moreover if your HS is connected not by glue but using bolts it would even be easier). Anyways, zalman ZM80 or the VGA silencer would both do a good job with your...

Ok, I don't have an ATI, my card is ti4600 normally clocked and I recently installed zm80c. My card was running very stable with no fan on the heatsink but since I had a panaflo lying around doing nothing I hooked it up @5v since I can't really hear it inside the case this way. Anyhow my point is zm...

Thank you all for the tips, I've modded my PSU with an L1A, I currently hooked it up through fanmate due to the fact that I need to find a 2 pin connector to hook it properly inside the PSU. Anyhow running it @7v was not for me, the exaust air was too hot when running prime95 so it's going @10v now....

Thanks kloppe exactly the info I needed, btw where did you dig that up? So I'm thinking of putting an L1A without a resistor, being rated 24cfm @~21dba it should be a good compromise of silence and cooling. Is it posible to mod the PSU in such a way that I won't damage anything in an irreversible wa...

BQE PSU fan swap
I just finished installing cnps7000 and the zm80 and I've got to say this PSU is getting on my nerves... before, when people where complaining about it I couldn't understand it but now, now, oh and the fan on cnps7000 clicks @5v a little annoying but for now it's not a problem thanks to the PSU. Ok ...

I just installed zm80c on my ti4600, no fans, completely passive. It works nicely. The bottom plate (the one in contact with the GPU) should be several degrees hotter than the upper plate, this is _needed_ for the heatpipe to work correctly, the heatpipe should be hot as well how else would it pump ...

This is Dorothy's explanation as given to me by mail: o China fans can be slightly better overall, Japanese fans more consistent o China plant being brand new, the Japan plant having less new tooling So I would say that to conclude that A is better than B you would need more samples, and I seriously...

Hi, I have the AeroFlow in my puter, sorry to disappoint you but it is noisy. I tried running it at @5-6v but it doesn't like starting at this voltage, and at ~8-9v it's noisy. I'm still waiting for my 7000a-alcu to arrive to switch it, anyhow it doesn't annoy me as much as the whiny 40mm blowing on...

Hmm, it seems that the numbers on the stickers (fan stickers) are incorect I double checked on panasonic's site and the correct values are 0.68A for 80mm and 0.11A for the 92. Also it might be that the fan itself drops voltage which I didn't check... Anyhow I found a useful site: http://www.cpemma.c...

Panaflo L1A's and resistors.
Hi, I recently got some L1A's (92 and 80 mm) to silence my computer, but I found out I have no way of undervolting them except for the 5v trick and the 7v (which I don't even want to try). So I opted to buy some resistors and have fun learning to solder (hell I'll kill two birds with one stone this ...

Sardaan: Hi, it's a little OT but seeing that you use ga-7vrxp with Zalman 7000a Hs and I just ordered it I couldn't resist to ask you.. Anyways, Zalman site states that 7vrxp is only partially compatible with 7000a and that I'll need to cut one of the 'legs' of the HS, did you have to do it, and if...
