Good idea on the Xigmatek, seems to be recommended all around so I'll go for it. I was thinking of getting the ATI 4870X2 when it comes out, only problem is, what aftermarket heatsinks can handle the dual-cores? For the price, it is about the same as two 4870's and initial previews are great. Anyone...

Looking to build a new quiet computer - recommendations?

Hello all, I've been out of the loop for a while but I'd like to build a new quiet desktop gaming rig that can adequately play games and watch movies on my monitors. Main limitations are my Dell 3007 and a secondary Dell 2405 so I'll probably need dual video cards. I have no idea where to start so a...

What i hate about it is the consumerist phallus compensation mentality that makes people pursue these kinds of monster earth wasters. I equally loathe those who drive Hummers, doubly so on metropolitan roads. I agree, that said; I equally loathe the companies for manufacturing these monsters that n...

I actually ordered a Thermalright V1 Ultra because the mounting system looks very flexible: http://www.bigbruin.com/reviews05/imageview.php?item=v1ultra&file=pic20.jpg To cover the RAM, Zalman has the low-profile RAM sinks that come with the VNF100 and can be purchased separately. Finally, the 7900 ...

Actually the word is that the Accelero S2 will fit but I can't find a single confirmation of this. They are all claiming that it would fit before the it was actually released. Also, if the Accelero S2 fits how do you cool the HSI? Here is a company that claims it fits the 7800 GS, which is basically...

Wow, neither the VNF100 nor the VF&00 fit! What a waste. This card has an extra chip on it... back to the stock heatsink it is. Anyone know of a compatible heatsink?

Edit, VF700, not 900.

Hey I also have this card. I bought a VNF100 Zalman for it but I haven't received it yet.

I'm also in the market for a cooler for this, although I also have a Zalman VF700 that I can test with it.

I got sick of the "laptop style" keys, How come? Oh, and does it come with a USB-PS/2 adapter? I just wanted a more full keyboard; I feel that I can type better that way. I use a laptop on the go and I wanted something for a change when I got back home. No, it doesn't come with a USB-PS/2 adapter.

A.C.:

It's quieter than the Comfort Curve 2000, which I had just replaced. I got sick of the "laptop style" keys, and this is a great, full-bodied keyboard that's more silent than the CC2000. What bugged me most about the CC2000 was its clickety spacebar; not so much with this keyboard.

THE end all most quiet keyboard EVER! (from IBM nonetheless)

So I've been through about 10 keyboards in search of the quietest. Ranging from the $20 Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000, which has been my primary keyboard for a while, to the $120 Logitech diNovo. I decided to get the IBM ThinkPlus Enhanced Performance USB Keyboard . This is by far the quietest keyboa...

This is very true -- what exactly is the maximum height of a CPU cooler one could fit in there? In addition, the PSU fan sucking (or not) the hot air would be problematic as that may result in an increase in fan noise.

Lian Li V600

Has anyone seen this new Lian Li V600? It looks very fun, and presumably quiet. Maybe I'll redo my system with one of these puppies: http://www.techzine.nl/uploaded/31617_b1de1cd5.jpg Review It's just a shrunken V1000, but the V1000 is a little too big for me. Hopefully, it can disappate heat fast e...

I dont like the Comfort Edition anymore. I had the opportunity to try the 4000 and the 2000 in the store. Suffice to say I purchased the 2000 because I felt it was quieter and I don't like "natural" keyboards.

The store 4000 sample also had a loud spacebar, so caveat emptor.

No, it's not BT AFAIK. This is definitely the quietest keyboard I have encountered, aside from the soft polymer keyboards. Compared to the UltraX, it is both quieter and "squishier."

Picked up a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 today at CompUSA. This keyboard is the quietest keyboard I have used out of the 10 or so I have owned.
