Is it OK to use the PSU kit (w/ 150w AC adapter) on intel c2d e8400, G41 MB, one SSD and 2x2GB RAM system? Thank you. Yes more than enough. How many 3.5" HD's can you add to this setup before you run into PSU problems? Thinking of getting one for a WHS setup. Thanks. By the way, anyone with pics of...

Would you buy another Antec product after this incident ??
Ladies and gentleman, I posted an FS thread in the Classified section for a brand new Antec Smart Power 2.0 PSU units. Subsequently, a representative from Antec chimed in with a comment about their products. I'll let the thread speak for itself - http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=...

Saved for the future if Antec_Rep edits his post. Howdy, Thought I would drop in here, seeing as how these are Antec units! :D Just want to mention that we've seen a few cases of HK knock-offs of the Smartpower 2.0 crop up lately, so buyer beware! Plus, the Smartpower 2.0 is a little aged at this po...

Plus, the Smartpower 2.0 is a little aged at this point... I'd be surprised if the legit model worked right out of the box! Thanks, Antec I am extremely offended by this post, as should any potential buyers of Antec products. The ones I have are genuine Antec units. One bought from Fry's and anothe...

I'll definitely look forward to your ducting solution! :D To be honest, that keeping the PSU cool part is an unknown to me. While the PSU is separated from the motherboard and the drives, it is above all the other components. No doubt it'll warm up more than if it was at the bottom like it is in th...

PSU's output is much improved when it is not running hot, so even with what seems like an underpowered PSU, as long as you make sure it is running cool, you will get very good output. My main problem with Seasonic is that I just don't like the fan arrangements. All my computers are in rack mount cas...

I second tombcat's suggestion. My Tagan 480W used to power dual Barton's + 6 HD's + 3 CDRoms + ATI AIW 8500DV without any problems whatsoever. It ran 24/7 for about 2.5 years. Extemeley quiet. I did have a fan duct that supplied cool air directly to the PSU though. Now that I sold my dually setup, m...

Thanks for the suggestion to buy them both. :D Here's my situation. I've got a rack with 3 computers. I need to have two 80mm and two 92mm fans in each computer. That's a total of 12 fans. So every bit of extra noise is going to add up, and I'm trying to find the best fan. Each panaflo or nexus is a...

Nexus Vs. Panaflo - which is quieter at the same CFM
Hello. At 12V (or any other equal voltage), the Nexus fans are quieter than panaflo's but I think that's because Panaflo's have higher RPM's and move more air than Nexus at the same voltage. What happens if you turn down the voltage on Panaflos and matched the RPM and CFM of the two? In other words,...

ddrueding1, could you comment on whether there were any issues mounting the Ninja on your Gigabyte mobo, specifically any trouble involving Gigabyte's unique backplate design? I'm not sure what's so uniqe about it. It was very simple to remove, and the replacement that shipped with the Ninja requir...

You have to use the retention bracket that comes with the Nija yes. However, you can use the stock backplate in some cases. My A8N-SLI Premium had a compatible backplate. Would you mind taking a picture of the Asus retention bracket? Thanks. The ninja is almost perfect for my needs (I have a horizo...

Sycthe Ninja SCNJ-1000 question for Socket 939
Can this heatsink be used with the original retention bracket that came with my socket 939 mobo, or do I have to use the one comes with the heatsink? The reason I ask is I have a Gigabyte NF4 SLU motherboard. It has a slightly raised IC chip near the socket that prevents you from using 3rd party ret...

I do have some fanmates. However, these custom made volage controllers are very nice because they are relatively load (current) independant. So I can hook up 4 case fans in parralel etc, and still get predictable results. The Zalman fanmate's ability to control speed and heat generation is dependent...

No so fast. I have the U01 Tagan, and couldn't be more happier. It is completely silent, and it is cool to the touch, not hot at all. I'm also ducting cold air straight into the PSU, and maybe that is the difference, but of all the PSU's I've had so far, Tagan has been the most stable, cool, and qui...

There are a couple reason why I would be interested in this. The coolers with latest technologies that will allow me to not use a fan on them only exists for the newer processor types. With a properly ventilated horizontal rackmount case, many of these newer HSF's don't need fans on them directly as...

Re: What is the best SMALL but quiet HSF for Socket A
Just out of the curiosity, how is/was your watercooling setup configured? I'm running dual 2800MPs here and was wondering about watercooling too, even if at this time it would make little sense because of a single very loud hdd I need to get rid of first. But, what kind of pump and grill did you ha...

Hello. I'm watercooling dual Bartons right now but I'm looking to switch to air-cooling in order to move my stuff into a rack. So, I ran across some nice HSF's for K8 processors. The one I am interested in is Cooler Master Hyper 6 (KHC-V81). Reviewed here : http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/hyper6/ M...

What is the best SMALL but quiet HSF for Socket A
Hello. I'm currently watercooling my AMD dually system (whisper quiet), but I've decided to try moving it to a rackmount case and aircool it. The problem is, the two socket A's are close to each other that I don't think I can use Zalman 7000. Mobo in question is Tyan Thunder K7 S2462 - you can look ...

Which Shuttle system is the quiestest ?
Hello. Looking to add a second system for my daughter.
Of all the shuttle offerings, which one is the quiestest of them all? The choices are sorta bewildering.
Any other SFF suggestions are also welcome.
TIA.
