They're identical drives. I can't run them individually now because they are in a raid 0. I have taken them out of the case to see how noisy they really are - they appear to be only a little louder than my previous ide hdd - which is reassuring. however in tandem inside the case they cause havoc. i'...

2x120GB Seagate SATA Drives UNBEARABLY LOUD

Hi, I just upgraded (well, downgraded) from one ide 120gb seagate barracuda drive to 2x120gb sata drives. they're in a raid 0. I cannot describe how loud they are! I never had a problem with the old ide drive, so beautifully quiet, but these ones are terrible! It's fine when the computer is in idle ...

new graphics card

Hi, I'm happy with my computer (it's silent enough for me) but it's only got an old fanless gfx card. i want a really good one (not really really good just decent) but i don't want to compromise on noise levels. everyone seems to say the 9600xt is my best choice budget wise but you guys are the only...

mounting motherboard upside down

anything to stop my turning my motherboard around so the cpu is down the bottom of the case where it may be cooler? pci slots wouldn't really line up presumably, but anything else?

i think the physical constraints of the board aren't the reason they don't list the 7000a-alcu as compatible - i think it is because the uguru chip on the board (software/hardware monitoring) doesn't let you put a fan on that spins at less than 2000rpm by default. don't worry, you can get around it ...

Hi Got me an abit an7 with the uguru stuff... Want to remove my northbridge fan and stick a passive nb32j heatsink on instead. Which is fine, except every time I stop the nb fan the computer sounds like an ambulance because the urugu warnings cut in. How do I stop this? I've figured out how to lower...

fan adaptor

is it okay to use a fan adaptor like this http://www.pccasegear.com/prod724.htm (only black and not so ugly) ? the hole on my case is only 60mm but i want a quieter fan (i've ordered an 80mm panaflo to run at 5v. it will be sucking air out from under the psu and from the cpu and then blowing through...

P.S. I can't seem to find the exact 80mm panaflo reccommended on spcr -is this the right one? (Australian site) http://www.pccasegear.com/prod233.htm This is a low-speed fan already (1900rpm) so will I need to undervolt it further to be virtually inaudible? It will be connected to the 60mm fan adapt...

so sorry for the long delay, been working I have a no-name case. there is space for an 80mm fan but only with a fan adaptor... what are fan adaptors like noise-wise? do they act like a funnel and add to noise? or are they okay.. if they are okay, then i'm really excited about installing a lo-speed p...

case fan under power supply

Hi, Sorry if this is too newbie... I'm about to buy a fan for my case to go under the power supply so that my psu doesn't overheat all the time at spin at maximum speed... (thanks to everyone for reccomending this) i think a 92mm panaflo will fit, so should i get that? or will the 'dead zone' be big...

Silencing northbridge on an7/nf7 with massive cpu fan

Hi I have a cnps7000a on an abit an7.. i want to silence my northbridge by using a heatsink only option. i want to buy the Zalman ZM-NB47J (that cool, blue one) but i don't think it will fit under the heatsink of the afore mentioned cpu fan... i have bought the old ZM-NB32J... good enough choice? an...
