Aha, a fellow belgian silencer! :)
One question: where'd you get the nexus fans? I've been looking for some, but they're pretty hard to come by without paying loads for shipping...
Nice looking setup btw.

I was wondering on a little issue concerning suspending HD's, and didn't think it necessary to start a new thread on the topic. I know it's best for HD's to be mounted either horizontally or vertically, but not at some angle in between those 2 "extremities". Now, isn't it just real hard to get a HD ...

Well I think I am pretty sensitive, and getting more so by the day. Lets just say Ive got to a stage where just about everyone I know is making fun of me because I'm trying to quiet down a sytem that's already 'silent' (to their ears). I do think a clicking noise would bother me, although I haven't ...

So what you're saying is best not go for Papst? I take it with the "hit or miss" thing you mean that some are good and some aren't (I guess I got lucky then, I've got a 120mm white-labelled one which is a dream - at 5V at least...). If I can get the new blue and white labelled ones, will I be "safe"...

Nope, no resonance. I actually took the whole system out of the case the last few days to be able to analyse the different sources of noise better. So you can rule that out... As for the Nexus: shipping is usually pretty expensive (15-20€), but I guess I can have it shipped to my brother since he li...

Replacement for Zalman 7000?

Hey, this is my situation: I've been able to quiet my system down up to the point where the loudest parts are the psu fans and the fan on my zalman 7000. The system consists of the following: AMD XP 2600+ (Barton core) on Asus A7N8X-E deluxe (stock speeds) GeForce fx5200, passively cooled Antec 3700...

Yup, I've got that effect going on in my 3700AMB at the moment. It isn't always so, but when is starts it drives me mad. Because it isn't a constant sound/noise it's terribly disturbing and it really gets on your nerves. A must avoid! As soon as I'm done with my exams I'll be looking into an effecti...

For the videocard, go for passive cooling. Zalman still sells their passive cooling solutions. They require some work to install properly but do their job just fine given you've got some airflow in your case. And they're not expensive

I'm part-time lifeguard at the swimming pool over here. Salary is around 700€ (800$ ?). I've got a university degree in Physical Education (or Movement Sciences as they call it now) and I'm doing some more studies as a dietician. That job is about the most I can handle doing the combination of studi...

I thought it'd be better to ask the following here rather than opening a new thread, so here I go: Would it be in any way harmful to just cut of the second device connector, in order to get an IDE cable with only one connector? Reason I'm asking is because I intend on assembling a pc which will prob...

I like the idea. I was actually thinking of doing something likewise with an older system I have standing around here. Oh well, I'd already turned it down to 5V of course. At 12V it was pretty loud, but not in the anoying way my jetplane HSF is. Although I couldn't really hear I turned it down thinking every source of noise I could take away would make an improvement. At 5V I can't hear it all anymore, and I'm still...

On my AMB, the front grill is actually the same as the BQE's I think. The problem is the back grill, which also has the hexagonal holes, but they're a lot smaller and the grill in between the holes is a lot wider. I've still got the grills on so I'll try to take some pictures, but that will have to ...

I've just received my 3700AMB this week and I was actually really surprised by the quality of that case. I was using some cheap case that vibrated like hell and was impossible to keep cool without making it sound like a jet. The 3700's panels are, I think, about 3 times as thick as the panels of tha...
