The 35W can simply run within AMD's tolerances at lower voltages than the 45W models. Desktop = 1.55V XP-M 45W = 1.45V XP-M 35W = 1.35V I just got an XP-M 2400+ 35W and an EPoX 8RDA3I+ Pro, and it's running great sofar. I currently have it set to 200x10 @ 1.40V. You can get down to 1.1V, but anythin...

Further, It is true that to use the BTX-formfactor you will need both a mobo and a case that supports it (unless you don´t use a case:), but if you have a PSU you like you will not need to buy a new, since the ATX-PSU will work with the new standard. Unless you go caseless and get some sort of adap...

The card PCB is different, but not the core. All the changes in performance amount to the increase in clock speeds and driver changes. Driver? You mean the BIOS? But yes, I do understand that the core is the same. That's why your card has no problems (yet) running the 9800Pro BIOS. Esssentially Ati...

But the only difference between a 9800 and a 9700 is the drivers and the clock speed. That's not right, either. The 9700 and 9800 are physically different revisions. But that's not to say those differences don't mean anything as far as the BIOS is concerned. Except for the name difference, of course.

Is it like a checkerboard pattern? If it is then you've got a card with dead pipelines. Which means it's defective, or possibly hacked, but not merely "relabeled" The 9800/9700's have 8, while the 9500/9600's only have 4. Active pipelines, yes. The 9800SE only has 4 pipelines as well (which just ma...

Does anyone understand why they had to change from ATX specs on power cables? I can't see that they added anything new, so the only major difference is that we will need yet another adaptor to connect old PSU to a BTX board. Notice the large difference in size of the PSU on the drawins for differen...

Another good thing that nobody has mentioned is that the mobo is mirrored as opposed to ATX. This means that the mobo is on the other side of a tower case. So cooling of hot video cards becomes easier, because the chips are on top again like they were with ISA years ago. No, that's a bad thing. Now...

I know it sounds dumb, but the point of the funnel is to guide the airflow, not restrict it.
