I found an interesting HDD cooler here
only $10 each + shipping, an easy mod should make this a good muffler/cooler for Raptor, what do you guys think?

Raptor drives drive me crazy
I have a very very noisy overclocked system, but I can't stand those high pitched whines from the Raptor dual. I tried to find stuff like smartdrive or quietdrive, but they cost way too much, $50 for a drive enclosure? Suspension sounds like a good idea to me, anybody has experience on that? ...

Modding an Antec Truepower 430W
I opened my Antec 430W and voided the warranty, there are two Dynaeon fans inside, one 92mm, 3000rpm, 35dba and the other 80mm, 3000rpm, 33dba and 27.5CFM, I am wondering if I can swap in two panaflo L1A's, My system needs very little power, Celeron 1.48G@1.27V, GeForec2, 512Mb RAM, 1 hard drive, CD...

Antec 430W buzzing noise
I am extremely dissapointed with the buzzing noise coming out of my new antec true power 430W, the temerpature controlled fan works fine but overall this is one loud PSU.

24V Panaflo, How about this fan?
mpja.com has them for $4 each, and $3.5 for 12+
http://www.mpja.com/productview.asp?product=14293+FN
This is the "H1A" that operates at 24V, if we 5V this baby, shouldn't it be a good 5V L1A alternative?

hey anyone know about how much air that big fan would push at 5 or 7 volts? CFM and voltage are pretty much linear, at 6V it would push around 50cfm. The question is "can this fan start at 5V or 7V?", somebody reports 12V works fine and "very quiet". I think the ultimate goal is to have an overcloc...

Home made smart fan controller
I want something that turns on fans when a certain temperature is reached and gradually speeds up till full load at another temerature. Has this been done? The fanstorm kit seems to do this, but I am a bit short on cash and wife would never approve it.

Thermalright makes low cost all copper heatsinks, their current flagship SLK800 takes 80mm fan, the discontinued AX-7 (still the king of heatsinks) also accepts 80mm fan, their SK6+ is a lot cheaper, it's like $10 for 400 grams of pure copper, so if you can get a 60mm-80mm adapter cheap I believe it...

1)(Quietest)Toshiba SM1612 Unfourtunately the Toshiba has been replaced with the "1712" which has only 1/4th the cache of the 1612, and I don't think the Benq is still available either. You can still find Toshiba 1612's if you look around on Pricewatch. I just got one a few weeks ago. Thanks for th...

Quietest optical drive?
I know you can always slow it down or avoid using cds, but I still want the quietest, so what do you think? Any mod? I heard LG and Toshiba DVD-ROM are very quiet, all I have are lite-ons and they are loud.

A lot of 1.1G Cellies need around 1.7V to get 133FSB, to undervolt you'll have to run stock speed, the best undervolt mobo is Abit ST6 (1.1-2v), ... good luck finding one, other options are ASUS TUSL2, ABit VH6T, the rest are all crap, I have a MSI 694T Pro...and it sucks The Gigabyte board has 1/5 ...

Virtual drive does not work on most modern games, and it shoulden't, as far as cd emulators go, I think Daemon Tools (freeware) is the best, but again, most modern games do not and should not work, if you really hate to spin up your game cd every time you play, try to download a no cd patch for your...

I think you should sell your system, the reason: old willy P4 sucks, rambus sucks (they are dying), Intel Mobo sucks (no tweaking options) 1G Ram Overkills (unless you do video editing or host a game server you don't need that amount of ram) Sell this pc on ebay or forums like hardocp, tomshardware ...
