Re: Alternative to Scythe QuietDrive
I was just wondering about this. My hard drive is annoying me as I write this, and it's not the vibration but the droning sound. Most of the DIY solutions seem to address vibration more than anything but it is a moot point as I'm a bit lazy and ultimately looking for something that I can buy that is...

Thanks all for your input! So it generally seems that Gigabyte boards support speed control of 1 - 2 fans, though not necessarily via PWM. Good to know. lodestar, Thanks for that link, I think you gave it to me in my other recent post about the Mugen 2. It's an excellent solution but if you're going...

Gigabye vs Asus: Mobo with 3 x PWM fan headers
I'm currently planning an upgrade within the next few months (prob around Win 7 launch). I would like to get a mobo with PWM control for the CPU and at least one case fan, two would be ideal. I am under the impression that ASUS's boards offer 2 or maybe 3 PWM fan headers, but Gigabyte boards only of...

How would you connect two of these PWM fans to the single CPU connector on the MOBO (which would be needed to take advantage of the BIOS's CPU PWM control)? I can't remember my electronics, something tells me that if you connected them the wrong way, one would operate at a different voltage than the...

Well I just finished reading the article and I'm a bit dissapointed. For some reason they decided to point a fan at the Reserator, so no wonder it preformed so well. Besides, I tested the temperatures of the Zalman-cooler while there was a fan blowing at the reserator, and in that way really be sure...

Wow, great results on the Athlon 1700+ @ 2400MHz, 2.0V. Only 12 c over ambient That's only the Waterblock (RBX is shows for some reason, not the Zalman waterblock) at idle or the Reserator at load. The actual CPU is 21 at idle and 24 at load (above ambient). Still, that's very impressive, especiall...

Do they have the English version of the article up yet? I checked the site but couldn't find anything. In Swedish the path is /Testlabb/Recensioner/Zalman Reserator 1 but if you hit the England flag for English I couldn't find a "Recensioner" section, whatever that is. I also couldn't find a search ...

Hmm, so maybe I won't worry if it climbs above 50, as long as it's Prime stable. Even if the processor only lasts two years, that's fine with me. It'll be time to upgrade by then anyway (now the question is, can I last two years without an upgrade?). :D Anyway, I think my processor may not be as cra...

Wow!! This is most exciting!! I was researching watercooling a few weeks ago but scraped the project because of various issues. I've just got a 2600+ mobile and I'm trying to figure out it's potential. I've decided to start at 2200 Mhz (11 x 200). I started at 1.575V (the lowest on my A7N8X-X) and have worked my way up. So far I can't get Prime 95 (Priority 10 in the program, and High in Task Manager) to pass 24 hrs and I'm ...

Source for Silencer in Canada?
I'm looking to buy a 92mm Silencer. It looks like I can order it directly from the manufacturer here, but before I do that, I just wanted to check to see if anyone knows of a place in Canada I can order them from.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ecstatic with the 120mm 4412FGL Papst I agree. I love my 4412FGL. It's so quiet it's amazing (@5V)!! Anyway, thanks m0002a and dukla2000 for helping me understand the difference. So basically this Directron one is the same but without RPM monitoring. I can live without that. But everyone seems to s...

I found a 3412 NGL at directron. Is that the same as the 3412 N/2GL that Silent Hardware tested? The specs are similar, except the Directron one is 61.0m3/h and the Silent Hardware one is 57.2m3/h. However, the site that Silent Hardware references as their source for the fan, MR Computer Engineering...

I'm looking for a great 92mm fan for my SP-97. I listenned to the Panaflow 92mm L1A and was not only unimpressed, I was disturbed . So I currently have the 80mm L1A on it, and it's pretty darn good but I think I can do better cooling/noise wise with the right 92mm fan.
