1 pump / 2 cooling loops in parallel ??

I was wondering how you think the system would work with only 1 pump and and 2 parallel cooling loops?

This would allow the one pump to pump against less resistance and provide more flow than all cooling blocks in series.

Thanks ( for not being silent about this  ).

I thought I remebered something about changing orientation of drives after they were formatted and this resulting in some data problems.

I must have been dreaming last night.

Off to finish transferring my system.

Horizontal or Vertical suspension?

I am transferring my computer into its new home - the :D fall silent upgrade . I could not figure out a way to add the elastic suspension system into the 5.25 bays. I drilled some holes to install the elastic in the front bottom of the case, below the 3.5" drive cage. Next is to string the elastic a...

One of our rack mount servers had an adapter that extended the PCI (AGP?) slot and rotated it 90 degrees. This results in the video card being parallel to the motherboard and about 1.5 inches away. If you could find one, this would allow you to choose from regular height graphic cards. Hope this hel...

I can't see why connecting a wire (HDD - case) should cause any vibration resulting in noise :P If you use a large solid wire , #2 gauge (about 5 mm diameter), I am sure we could notice some vibration. (this is meant to be humerous, as I hope nobody would consider this for their hard drive)

Re: Cooling interior temp

2. You could build a fancy peltier block on the exterior of the case. You would put a perforated cool side (cooling radiator) on the inside of a tube that is fed to a intake fan. The top hot side would sit outside the duct and cool be cooled enough by a quiet fan. :-) Could you seal the case and us...

the noisest components, the HD and the PSU don't really benefit.
Even worse, this device seems to exhaust its heat inside the case; ensuring that your psu fan makes more noise.

what exactly is a ferrite ring? just a magnet basically? Ferrite is a form of iron. For EMI noise, whether it is magnetic is not important. compressor?

 If you are running a compressor it is definitely the noisiest part of your pc.

Most water cooling setups have a pump and radiator (with or without a fan) but no compressor. Wehn it comes time to watercool, I would find / build a large radiator so that i don't need a fan.

According to the specs on that page
for 40 x40 x 10 fans,
the noise is  36 dB for 8.6cfm at 8800 rpm for fastest in series
or 25 db, 5.9cfm, 5500 rpm for the slowest in the series.

They don't seem very quiet.

No room for a larger, quieter fan? Could you mount a fan on the outside?

Why not use the PSU with or without the fan, as your exhaust port?

This saves cutting more holes and focuses airflow on a potential hot spot.

Any sort of foam loses its properties at some point. Foam beds should be replaced after 5-10 years due to loss of support. I just checked and the fan has died so it is running quite hot at the moment.

Can I run it bare (no heatsink, no fan) indefinetely? or should I mount a passive heatsink on it?
