1 pump / 2 cooling loops in parallel ??
I was wondering how you think the system would work with only 1 pump and and 2 parallel cooling loops?
This would allow the one pump to pump against less resistance and provide more flow than all cooling blocks in series.

Horizontal or Vertical suspension?
I am transferring my computer into its new home - the :D fall silent upgrade . I could not figure out a way to add the elastic suspension system into the 5.25 bays. I drilled some holes to install the elastic in the front bottom of the case, below the 3.5" drive cage. Next is to string the elastic a...

One of our rack mount servers had an adapter that extended the PCI (AGP?) slot and rotated it 90 degrees. This results in the video card being parallel to the motherboard and about 1.5 inches away. If you could find one, this would allow you to choose from regular height graphic cards. Hope this hel...

I can't see why connecting a wire (HDD - case) should cause any vibration resulting in noise :P If you use a large solid wire , #2 gauge (about 5 mm diameter), I am sure we could notice some vibration. (this is meant to be humerous, as I hope nobody would consider this for their hard drive)

Re: Cooling interior temp
2. You could build a fancy peltier block on the exterior of the case. You would put a perforated cool side (cooling radiator) on the inside of a tube that is fed to a intake fan. The top hot side would sit outside the duct and cool be cooled enough by a quiet fan. :-) Could you seal the case and us...

I think a shipping company would have to have tracking to allow insurance. Otherwise, they could have claims of non-delivery even though it was delivered. Maybe some of them don't bother with this though. According to Canda post http://www.canadapost.ca/scripts/rc/USRate.dll?ParcelRate The following...

I have just shipped a dead deathstar (deskstar) HD for replacement. Shipping from Canada to US was a pain. UPS requires you to fill out 2 or 3 separate forms. what exactly is a ferrite ring? just a magnet basically? Ferrite is a form of iron. For EMI noise, whether it is magnetic is not important. The ring is an inductor that evens out electic voltage swings. This http://www.qedata.se/e_emikomp.htm explains a bit about EMI suppression and different ways ...

compressor?
If you are running a compressor it is definitely the noisiest part of your pc.
Most water cooling setups have a pump and radiator (with or without a fan) but no compressor. Wehn it comes time to watercool, I would find / build a large radiator so that i don't need a fan.

Cooling fluids
How about gases, like nitrogen and the noble gases? Higher pressure may make designing the cooling system more work. How easy is to pump them? or do you have to liquefy your cooling system? Bike Helmets
Any sort of foam loses its properties at some point. Foam beds should be replaced after 5-10 years due to loss of support. Sneakers should be replaced after a year or less due to declining shock absorption. Bike helmets within 5 years because the foam will not absorb the impact and not protect your...

Opening somewhere - how about for cable
And that, my friend, is precisely why you have to have a hinged door. Until they develop teleportation, you will need to have some kind of opening to change your CDs. And while it would be relatively easy to seal a large door on the front of your computer (a rubber gasket, or even weather-stripping...
