Why would you want the considerably more expensive Acoustis? Unless it's for the clear plastic looks? Globe 120mm fans click slightly but run slower. The leads are not as long as AF120's. Though the AF120's wont start under 5V so you couldnt use them in a Super Tornado since the start voltage is so...

maybe

check the wires connected to the fan control knob on the back. Each time I messed with a fan in my noisetaker was was very carefull not 2 touch that piece very much since it fell apart the first time I opened it. Also I had a Panaflo 80m running at 5V in my noisetaker and it would shut off after abo...

Probably not

the 120mm fan psu's suck air from inside the case, but there are vents on the back of the PSU that allow some really hot air to get back into the case up near the cd drives. Im pretty sure thats what you are seeing. It should be letting some air back into the case unless you block those vents. I not...

Noisetaker start voltage

The fans on the noisetaker start up at like 12V. Its pretty loud. The 80mm on the back only runs at that voltage for less than a second. Its still very annoying unless your system is always on. I like the Super Tornado 400 a little bit more than the Silencer Panaflo combo. Havent swapped fans on the...

Cool Cage

CoolerMaster 4 in 3 Device Module http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/stb-3t4-e1.html Ive got one of those in a BQE on top of some foam with shock cords tied to the case to suspend some of the weight from the foam and the cage. The cage is packed and covered with Acoustipack foam and a layer of viny...

BQE drive cage

Cut out the drive cage, its blocking all the air. Check your drive temps. I had the stock BQE until I checked my drive temps. Once I cut out the cage my temps went way down and the air is flowing nicely through the case. Before the air would sit around and get pretty warm. The BQE cage is horrible. Th...

Antec case + PSU

Skip it. Get the compucase LX-6A19. The Antec AMB is much better than the BQE and Sonata. I will never buy another BQE. You must modify the harddrive cage,or the air flow sucks. The AMB/LX-6A19 just pulls out. Ive got my hdds and drive cage decoupled in the AMB,its great. Ill be posting pics soon. T...

14dba

The 14dba 120mm fan doesnt make much motor noise, and none of that sucky clicking a Panaflo may make. However the Nexus 120mm fan does make a bit more "motor noise". The Silen X fan moves alot more air than the Nexus, but you can hear the air flow from the SilenX 14 dba. No, 14 Dba is not correct. You...

EAR gromets

I put 4 EAR gromets on the bottom side of the fan in the corners then pulled the clips over the ear gromets and onto the top of the fan. I Then put a thin rubber pad on the top of the fan. Stability with the ear gromets is good and there is no more vibration from the CPU fan with the clips digging i...

of course

Yes. but the steel on the Antec seems to work better than the aluminum on the Lian Li thats about twice as dense. I wasnt saying I wanted thinner aluminum, just that it was thick but still the case needed serious damping material. The stock junk wasnt gona cut it. Funny thing was,the stock junk showe...

Ya

Got it from Newegg, didnt keep my gear in it even a full day. The aluminum was thick everywhere in the case. Maybe if I had put acoustipack inside it would have been better, but I wasnt about 2 spend another $100 on that case.

Bah. Bought one. Returned it. Think the 2100 is a bit better but its not worth a small fortune,my cases cost $60 and are much stronger cases. PCI Slot fans

I own an Antec Cyclone Blower. It was pretty quiet undervolted, I couldnt hear it in the back of the case with the undervolted fans Im using. I own a Nexus 120mm bright orange fan and I didnt think it was quieter at 5 V than the rest of the 120mm fans I had when at 5V. Does that thing click at all in the PSU? Antec speed

Im not sure mine was 100% temp based. I could make it kick up under load right away even with both panels off in a freezing cold room. I dont think changing the fan would help, unless u swapped it out for a fan that would just barely spin up at 12 V cuz the Antec is headed for 2-3000 rpms under load ...

Old review,new PSU

My PSU is much newer than that review.Seeing how Seasonic just sent me their newest PSU last week as my replacement to the worst sounding PSU of all time (SS 460 Rev3 V2) and it works alot better than their old revision I just owned. So Im assuming BTX and PCI Express(All in One) arent the old versi...

All In One

Should say All In One - BTX,SATA & PCI Express ready. I just got the Rev3 V2 and replaced the fan with a Panaflo M. The rev3 V1 sucked very bad, it said Rev3 SATA ready. Dont buy that version!!!!. I had to RMA the old rev and had Sea Sonic send me the new revision. Again, Should say All In One,if it...

Put in the SS 460W rev3 V2 and it hasnt kicked up for 20minutes under prime95,yet the CPU temp has gone up from 116F to 132F under load. The stock fan is alot louder on start up than my Antec PSU. drive bay mod

SilenX doesnt move much air. I have fans rated at 37cfm that obviously push more than a 40cfm SilenX fan. The nexus 120mm is silent but doesnt move as much air. With the Acoustifan theres more motor noise even when undervolted. However you can take the resistor of the SIlenX 120mm fans and suck the ...

Drive Bay Mod

I have an Antec SLK3700-BQE case. I find the front plastic grill and fan mount very lame and the harddrive bay very restrictive to air. I mounted a SilenX 120mm 11dba fan with the resistor provided since I cant get any fan controller to turn that fan down any further. I added an Acoustifan Variable ...
