I actually found a 22ml tube for about 10 bucks and am ordering it. The original 9600XT was broken. I think it was because I acutally used the small screwdriver that Zalman includes in the package to tighten the bolts on the card. This time they are finger tightened, but still tight enough have a go...

UPDATE!! Well, I decided to give it one more shot. I noticed that one of the little plastic washers in the package had some Artic Silver on it and so I cleaned all the components before assy. I tested the card after a good spray cleaning with Blue Shower Tech Spray. I was very careful and again only...

WUMPUS - Yeah I knew it was overkill, but I had it sitting around on a rack and nobody has bought it so I decided to use it. I was not concerned about the heat so much as just getting rid of the noise from that aweful fan. It is just loud. Didn't sound cruel. MonsterMac - VGA Silencer? Could you giv...

UPDATE: Well, I bought my new All in Wonder 9600XT. Let me just say people should not try to modify this card. I was extremely careful with it. Used bench with electro static wrist bands, heated the card about 1 minute and removed the heat sink / fan assy. I then mounted my Zalman Heat Pipe EXTREMEL...

Update: I shut down the side fan and covered the hole with aluminum tape. I also covered up the holes in the front of the case since there are no fans there and they are allowing a lot of air to escape in the wrong direction. I'll let it sit for a while and give some new temps when this experiment i...

I will reply to you all more in detail and include some pictures of the case when I get home tonight. I did realize that 33C was a good temp, but I guess I always want MORE! I don't understand how my CPU temp is lower than the case temp either, but the system has run that way since the beginning and...

UPDATE: I drilled an 80MM hole in the side of my case today and added one more panaflo 80L. I tested the system with the fan at 5.5 Volts and then at 12V according to the Zalman switch that has a 12V OFF 5V positions. Results: 1. Additional fan configured to pull air into the case. Case Temp dropped...

Tyrdium - I have the same processor MSI K8 Neo Fisr2 MB and am sitting at 31C for CPU 33C for Case as I type. After 10 minutes running CPUBurn, 41C on CPU 35C Case. My biggest drop in temperatures were due to running Cool N Quiet on the Bios and then loading the Cool N Quiet Drivers for XP from amd....

Thanks Kogi - I know it is low, but ever since I discovered SPCR, silencing / cooling my pc has become a bit of an obsession. lenny, 2. To improve airflow further, make sure the bottom of the case is raised high enough from the floor or carpet. The PC is sitting on 2X2 inch pieces of wood that run a...

Suggestions to make case air flow better
I wish I had read SPCR recommended cases prior to my purchase, but I had not found the site yet. I bought the Neo Classic by GMC which happens to be the very case that Mike C said was not designed well for air flow. I visited with Mike and have drilled 2 80MM holes in the bottom of the case. I now h...

I have done a good cleaning using Blue Shower Tech Spray. The card is clean. I allowed it time to try and then plugged it in again. Still corrupted video. Oh well, the new card will be a new attempt. I think this time I will test it as soon as I take the HS off and make sure it works as a stand alon...

ATI All In Wonder 9600XT & Zalman ZM80D-HP Inatall Advic
I installed a Zalman ZM80D-HP on my All In Wonder 9600XT over the weekend. Once complete, I reinstalled the 9600XT to find corrupt video during boot. The card is toast!! I don't know where I went wrong and followed the directions exactly as stated. Does anyone have advice in reference to doing this?...

Anodyne - I took that MSI backplate off with a hair dryer. Heated the plate for about 5 minutes and then flipped board over, the plate slipped off on it's own. Then Contact Zalman and tell them to send you some shorter mounting screws for the plate. They will sit lower and allow the heatsink and pro...

Yes, the mobile will sit lower. I just ran into this not long ago. First, Leave the card board on the pack plate to keep from shorting anything. Second, email this gentleman at Zalman and tell him you have the mobile Athlon 64 and need the shorter mounting screws for the Zalman 7000. I am not sure h...

I was using the back plate that came with the 7000. Everything ended up working, I just had to make some minor adjustments. Took the fan off the 7000 and then bent the metal spring as to apply more tension. Then put the unit back together and it fit more snuggly. I repeated these steps until the amo...
