Yesterday I found and ordered this kit
http://www.simerec.com/technicals.html
Actually all I needed from Intel CIR kit is reliable ON/OFF solution. Other IR commands can be handled by separated USB device. So I went for Simerec solution.

Where to buy Intel CIR device - FPR-100?
Hi, Does anybody know where I can buy this IR device for Intel boards? http://www.easy-cir.com/ The vendors list mentioned on that site is obsolete. I was able to find only two places which theoretically sell those devices. Versatek sells only in bulk: http://www.versatek.com/Spanish/products/ed-fpr...

Could you try changing "Startup and recovery" settings in Vista so you could read the BSOD? Just uncheck automatic restart checkbox. "Startup and recovery" is in "Advanced system settings". There might be some information, like the driver causing the problem if that's some driver fault. Post the num...

How loud is Fortron SAGA+ 400P PSU?
Hi, Does anybody owns this PSU? Ii'm intereseted how loud your version is. I'm I assembling PC for a friend, not really a silent PC. When I first turned it on at night yesterday, it was very loud in my opinion. All of my computers are really silent, all of them have fanless PSU, so I have nothing to...

Warranty & refurbished drives?
Hi, Does anybody knows if any HDD manufacturer replaces the faulty HDD under warranty to a not refusrbished one? I've never thought about that until my 500GB Samsung drive started dying couple of weeks ago and I got the replacement. The replacement drive looked suspicious - no plastic box, no manufa...

Sorry, for the late reply, vacations... this is interesting. i read in the specs of the mobo it has a 10/100mbit lan-connection. is that fast enough for making backups with whs? Yes, it is, only the first backup was quite long. After adding gigabit NIC I don't see any performance improvements for th...

low profile case for D201GLY2 mobo?
Hello,
I'm looking for a low profile case for D201GLY2 mobo and 2 x 3.5" HDDs.
D201GLY2 height is around 46-47mm including heatsink. As far as I understand it does not fit into Silverstone LC19 - it's internal height is 50mm.
So does anybody know if such a case exists?
thanks!

Corsair 520 fan swap or replacement?
Hello, I know that there are a lot of topics regarding the Corsair fan noise, I think I've read all of them but still cannot decide what to do. The problem is that the fan in my Corsair 520 PSU recently became the loudest part, the fan started producing irregular noise. It's not even one year old ye...

MB D975XBX2: 4 to 8-pin adapter question
Hello, Going to upgrade computer to D975XBX2, CPU E6600, NVIDIA 7600GT. The current PSU is Nexus 350W, 16A on 12V. I think this should be enough for my system but I want to confirm that it's safe to use 4 to 8-pin PSU adapter for that MB. It has 8-pin 12V connector, manual says that you should use P...

Plextor 755SA: problem reading DVD video at 2x
I've just bought this drive because it's got SATA and can read DVD disks at 2x quietly. Well it can and it's as quiet as my 5 years old Panasonic DVD player or even quieter, hard to say, but this is true only when reading some of my disks. While reading other disks there is a noise coming out of a d...
