scythe ninja revision B has been known for retention clip issues b/c it uses the same weak pushpins as the stock lga775 heatsinks but is several times heavier. I'd recommend the thermalright unless there's a revision C.. or unless you can get the old revision A. I haven't had an issue w/ my scythe n...

Most drives that i've had seem to be around the same noise levels (pioneer, asus, nec dvd burners). If you have those cheapo burners, maybe it's time to upgrade... or just burn your cds at slower speeds.... or buy slower dvd drives... If you haven't checked for its resonance issues, try comparing th...

Thermalright makes these lovely socket converter brack...

I use an si-97 (L116 x W96 x H75)mm , which fits.. but the 80mm panaflo on top is slightly modified. If you have a duct, I'd recommend ducting the 120mm exhaust onto whatever heatsink you use. Many people have dremeled the bar that blocks the heatsink clearance - if you do that, you can fit just abo...

I beg to differ on your views of power consumption. unless you get a venice core a64 single core, you're lookin at 80+ watts of power consumption from what I remember. the x2s now have special 65 watt, 35watt, etc. editions and such. Even then, athlon's still using semi-obsolete 90nm transistors Bas...

I forgot to mention that the p150 already comes w/ some kind of side panel absorption. I dont' think water cooling is worth it at all. I definately agree w/ trying out core2duo (conroe) or an athlon64 x2. If you're only going to do gaming or one intensive app at a time, I dont' think they'll help ri...

you might want a vf900 or vf700 on that grahpics card.. I think it'll be really loud w/o an aftermarket heatsink. w/ ati's crossfire, you can have one pci-express and the second one would need to be a crossfire. Basically, they work together to boost graphics processing performance... since it's bas...

Microfly airflow help
I just got a microfly and am worried about: 1) hd doesn't seem to get much airflow 2) psu gets all the heat from the vga card My current standard atx system's loudest thing is the 400W seasonic tornado. I'm going to get a s12-380watt seasonic for the microfly. I'm worried taht my x850xt is going to ...

It's b/c your shuttle is 400+ bux. I think u accidentally put 75 bux for a 92mm fan as well. If you used a normal case, you could get some nice antec case and mod the psu... which would cost you less than 100 overall, compared to the 400+ shuttle. I think most shuttle barebones cost around the200 ar...

I really don't like the idea of the psu sucking all the heat from the hot cpu. Sure, the cpu will run cooler, but the power source's fan is gonna ramp up.
