Re: Zalman R1
Judging from the pictures on the homepage it looks pretty restricted on the intake. R4 has a bottom intake and uses the whole length of the front for side vents. My guess is: No, won't match R4, probably not even close. I should have said low cost alternative - half the price of the R4... :) If you...

Re: Ecco 250 Micro ATX Case with sound proofing installed
I did forget about this thread - kind of... I did buy the case in the end. It's okay but not brilliant... I'm not a fan of the HDD mounting and have the hard drive sitting in a cage on top of a towel to dampen vibrations.. Have to very careful when moving the case for cleaning. Have recently investe...

Re: Ecco 250 Micro ATX Case with sound proofing installed
Your thoughts please - I'm looking to change from a Fractal Design Core 3000. It's inexpensive and, with reference to your 3K, it's also smaller. But if build quality *is* your concern, I don't think it may deliver. Thank you for the advice and noooooooooooooooooooooooo I was hoping the quality wou...

Re: Ecco 250 Micro ATX Case with sound proofing installed
Looks very good and that price is amazing for what it has. Are you going to be putting many drives in it? How are you intending to mount them all. I don't think I'd want to load up all of those side mounted hard drives as it would reduce CPU and GPU cooler headroom and there's got to be some vibrat...

Re: need help choosing case for positive air pressure
I have the Fractal Design Core 3000. Two front intakes - 120 and 140, plus bottom fan. Also has option to install two 120 at the top and one on the side.
Having said that, I believe the build quality is far better on the R3...

Re: Fractal Design Core 3000 v Coolermaster Silencio RC-550
Sorry bout the delay. I'd buy the silencio because it's a higher quality case, have quiet fans and is predampened. No need to apologise ;) I ordered the Fractal Core 3000 in the end as I have limited height under the desk and the Silencio would have been a very very tight fit - maybe 1mm spare or i...

Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
Need a favour from someone who has the Silencio - could you please measure the height including the feet? I emailed Fractal regarding the height of the Core 3000 (I'm considering that or the Silencio) and they advised the height didn't include the feet (shelf under a desk and limited height). Thank ...

Fractal Design Core 3000 v Coolermaster Silencio RC-550
Case advice please Was set on getting the Core 3000 but Scan have Today Only offer on the Silencio at £54. My current computer is quiet (Coolermaster Elite 340 is the case) but not silent. I have limited height (around 430mm) in the desk hence the short list of cases. Anyone have the Silencio? (I di...

Update: did finish the setup but it was too noisy for my liking and very difficult to do any tinkering. I wanted the CPU fan to be controlled by the motherboard and it was ramping up straight away - probably because it was a hot CPU and an old heatsink. I didn't want to spend anymore money on it so ...

43 views and no replies :(, I'll post an update :) The SI-128 may be a bit long in tooth and not enough to cool an X3 8450 :( The Titan looks ok but not how well the cooling will be plus a slightly bigger cooler would have been better IMO? Scythe Minja uses 80/90mm fans, I don't have any quiet 90mm ...

AM2 x3 CPU 8450 Cooler
I have a x3 8450 CPU and the AMD heatpipe cooler which is currently cooling it is loud IMO :( I would like to spend under £30 and have a shortlist of coolers. One problem - height of the cooler has to be under 110mm as the case I'm using is the Aerocool M40 Thermalright SI-128 (I already have this ...

Definitely cut out the front 120mm grill. I'd just cut out some space for the PSU's downward facing fan. Are you using a stock heatsink on your CPU? You could consider buying a top-down cooler and reverse the fan on it so it pulls air up through the heatsink and pushes it towards the upper area of ...

Not the best way to clean a system but..., I tend to take the side cover off and blast it with a balloon pump .
