I know how you feel dude. My friends all scream at me when i mention "panaflo," "quiet," and "computer" all in the same sentence. I've been prone to tampering with all my fans at hours at a time cause they whirling noise is just too unbarable. Ignorance is bliss...... SPCR saved and ruined my life :...

i have the leadtek and the fan is really really quite. i dont have to undervolt it or anything. My panaflo seems louder than it, but my rig is still quite from 1 meter and barable (mid-level SPCR standard) next to me. its really stable for me and offers a lot of programs. it also offers overclocking...

Nice work. Looks clean and quiet I have an identical case. You should really swap out the truepower fan with something else. You'll notice a difference. Do you like the coolermasters you're running. i bet you can do a tiny bit better. Other than that, it sounds like you're almost there. But in fact,...

Yes, they are conductive. If it wasn't, it would just be a plastic bag. Whether it can carry enough current is up for debate, but it's safe to assume that if it's sufficient to ground a motherboard then it's sufficient to short the pins and soldering on the back side of the motherboard too. The cas...

Sorry if I'm missing some little detail here, but if it's the Coolermaster 80mm fan that's the whole problem... and the temperatures are fine, why not just replace the fan with a Nexus/Panaflo rather than switching coolers? As far as I have read about it, the Hyper 6 is an otherwise excellent, if h...

Re: Scratched P180 Panel
Just received my silver P180 only to find the left side panel is badly scratched :x I have e-mailed Antec in the hope they will replace just the side panel without having to RMA the entire case. Edit: On closer inspection, the right side panel also has marks on it; some of the silver appears to be ...

Congrats. happy to hear that you've achieved some level of quietness. NOt to be a party pooper, but i think you've just caught a case of "beginners quietness." You're so impressed with the vast improvement in audible ambiance you have achieved that "silent" can only explain it. Trust me, give it a f...

what's interesting here is that you're only running a 2500 xp. I've seen several 2500 xp that show about an average of 34-39 degrees celcius. That's very odd. Are you getting your measurement through the bios or from MBM5 or something similar to that. I would be very surprised to see your NF7 report...

The 6600s do support Shader 3.0, but the X700 is the best for gaming. However, the 6600GT can be had for around 160$, and around 130$ if you are using AGP, so I wouldn't rule it out yet. Also, the 6600GT, as you said, is far superior to all of these. I disagree on both accounts. Go to Tom's Hardwar...

I recommend Vantec: NXP-205-SL Nexus 3.5'' Silver Fan Controller. Don't be fooled by the vantec brand. It's good. They have a 5.25" bay version that runs for a little more. There's a black version as well. The control knobs are backlit by a blue LED. Simple and clean...and works very well. http://sh...

Budget wise, the sonata 2 seams be the more reasonable choice for those that are price conscious. AND YES! you can be price conscious and still POST in a SPCR forum. The p180 totally looks good. Don't get me wrong, if I had 150-200 dollars to waist, I may just get it, but i don't. It may even be bet...

Aerocool x-static no good
Hey. To give you the heads up, the x-static by Aerocool is no good. Its only slightly better than a stock Antec 80. I have an Aerocool, it was one of their silent solution fans with LED. Its my top fan for now, even better than several of the yate loon's I own. I gave this x-static a chance since Fr...

Maybe it was a chip that is out of production and they still have some stock laying around. If not, you were very fortunate. The chip may have been out of production but I recently went to fry's and they're still offering the chip with certain combos and the chip alone at regular price. You can tel...
