Zalman coolers at CeBit

They showed a 7700HP, 8000A (which has more heatpipes than you can shake a stick at), a speed controller, and some waterblocks.

This case looks really interesting, now I'm kinda glad that my new system got delayed a bit due to lack of mobo (A8N-SLI) and videocard availability (6800GT PCI-e). I really can't wait for the review of this one. :D Heh. That's my problem too. That's the exact setup I'm shooting for. However, since...

11. Turn your $!@%# computer off and go outside for a change. Let’s be honest: the only way to create a truly silent computer is to turn it off. Really. Once in a while, turn off that machine. Get up. Go outside. Feel the sun on your skin and the wind in your face. And be happy. Because that’s what...

NV Silencer 4 in stock at FrozenCPU.com EDIT - no it isn't

FINALLY :D My almost silent computer will be complete. $31.99 Clicky EDIT: I received an email saying it was in stock. The page said it was in stock. I just got a call from FrozenCPU saying that the email was a mistake and the NV Silencer 4 will probably not be available until the very end of the ye...

Heatsink/TEC for dual-core Intel CPU

Below is the link to pics of the heatsink used by Intel's upcoming dual core CPU. It will have an integrated thermoelectric cooler built in and was designed to handle around 200W of heat.

Nice cooler but dual 60mm's (or maybe quad if you want a push-pull arrangement)? They need to work on that "silent computing" thingy a bit more :)

Duct it to a 120mm and this could be a nice setup.

The Sempron is a 32-bit CPU. It is available in socket A and socket 754 and eventually it will have a socket 939 version. Do not expect to see 90nm parts from AMD until the end of the year.

The idea of starting a fan at 12V and dropping the voltage after a few seconds is excellent.

But why is the device so incredibly hideous?

My particular favorite is the Aluminum Evercool 120. It is extremely undervoltable (if that is a word.) I have run it down to 3 or 4 volts and it is very quiet (in my opinion) at any voltage under 6V. Does that fan start up at 3v or do you start it at a higher voltage and turn it down manually afte...

Mine isn't. I have the Leadtek A340 (GF5900 non-ultra) and it has two small 40mm fans contained in an aluminum enclosure (to act as a duct). By far it's the noisiest component of my computer.
