Was wondering the same thing. That drive might get pretty warm since its not in the direct airflow path.

The problem with the HR01 duct is that you need to have the right motherboard and case for it to align properly. The CPU socket should be close to the top as possible. And the top of the case exhaust fan should closely align to the top of the motherboard.

Guys, what about buying a (cheap) chassis, then drilling many holes into it at bottom, top, etc. Putting in a fanless PSU (or one part of a 2-part psu), a low-powerconsuming CPU (maybe 10W? 20W?, but quite strong (I would prefer above 1000 points is passmark (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.ph...

You may not need a duct, but a motherboard that has the socket closest to the rear is best. If the heatsink is at least 1" from the rear fan, good passive cooling is possible.

all these native PATA or CF-PATA ideas are nice and all, but at this point I don't see any way how it's going to beat the price/performance of Kingston's intel-G2-based V-series 40GB drive + pata-sata convertor. I have to agree. I just got a Kingston V-series 64GB when it was on sale at Frys. It re...

The quality differences would be so slight that you would never notice it. The main advantage with DVI is that you never have to adjust the geometry of your monitor. I disagree. Nice looking CPU duct. As I've understood, P120 and NeoHE are supposed to be the best class in silence, but my items actually sound quite noisy to my ear. ...So, what would be your next moves in stepping from reasonable quietness to inaudibility and silence? Hello, your motherboard is clearly reporting temps ~10C higher than they actually are, you can use an infra-red thermometer to confirm this. If it bothers you that much RMA it, but otherwise the issue is basically solved. I agree. A 9 degree rise from idle to load (in hot weather) sounds about righ...

I think some exhaust would help. get a good quality fan and undervolt it. By not having an exhaust, most of the hot air is being recirculated in ur case, even though some of it is forced through the rear grill. Also, your psu is probably hotter because it is exhausting more of the hot air on its ow...
