Was wondering the same thing. That drive might get pretty warm since its not in the direct airflow path.KadazanPL wrote:one question though: why did you choose to place your HDD on a piece of foam, rather than use the suspension system?

Guys, what about buying a (cheap) chassis, then drilling many holes into it at bottom, top, etc. Putting in a fanless PSU (or one part of a 2-part psu), a low-powerconsuming CPU (maybe 10W? 20W?, but quite strong (I would prefer above 1000 points is passmark (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.ph...

I'm not sure if 32GB is sufficient, I just installed win7 pro couple of weeks ago, also installed Worms 4: Mayhem and Dragon age and my other utilities on it, using 46GB of space already, 32GB might work but it will be a bit tight, SSD's also need a bit of space to be fast anyway I have to agree. all these native PATA or CF-PATA ideas are nice and all, but at this point I don't see any way how it's going to beat the price/performance of Kingston's intel-G2-based V-series 40GB drive + pata-sata convertor. I have to agree. I just got a Kingston V-series 64GB when it was on sale at Frys. It re...

I'm tempted to get one of these and pair it with an Antec NSK 2400 from their B Stock. This would be a good start for a nice HTPC.

The Antec p180 rebate for Fry's is back. $119 with a $40 rebate. I saw it in my Chicago paper. It looks like its also at San Jose, CA and probably most other stores. Not sure if you can use the rebate at the Fry's website. I can't find the rebate online. One person on that fatwallet thread said that...

The quality differences would be so slight that you would never notice it. The main advantage with DVI is that you never have to adjust the geometry of your monitor. I disagree. DVI quality is much better than VGA. Text and graphics are more sharp and crisp. But you should try it out yourself. You ...

Re: Stepping from quiet to silent.
Nice looking CPU duct. As I've understood, P120 and NeoHE are supposed to be the best class in silence, but my items actually sound quite noisy to my ear. ...So, what would be your next moves in stepping from reasonable quietness to inaudibility and silence? The NeoHE is one of the best fanned PSU's...

Hello, your motherboard is clearly reporting temps ~10C higher than they actually are, you can use an infra-red thermometer to confirm this. If it bothers you that much RMA it, but otherwise the issue is basically solved. I agree. A 9 degree rise from idle to load (in hot weather) sounds about righ...

I think some exhaust would help. get a good quality fan and undervolt it. By not having an exhaust, most of the hot air is being recirculated in ur case, even though some of it is forced through the rear grill. Also, your psu is probably hotter because it is exhausting more of the hot air on its ow...

The Ninja's torque and weight is much better than most other tower heatsinks. It's installation is rather simple and you would only crack the core if you use install it with excessive force. Check out the SPCR review . If you want to keep your case, get a Seasonic. The fan in it shouldn't speed up t...

So the phantom 350 works ok without any air movement in the case at all? Antec seems to highly recommend using the phantom with some sort of fan in the system.
