Re: Which 140mm case fans?
Sorry if this is off topic (and an old thread) but I noticed you have an asus gtx670 on the v gene with the hr-02, exactly what I was planning but I was unsure on the distance between the Hr02 and the gpu. Does your card have the backplate and does this touch the cooler? yes my card has a backplate...

BeQuiet or Noctua?
Im looking to add two 140mm fans to my fractal r4. I've tried the corsair af140s but they have coil whine and are louder than the stock fractal fans at the same speeds by a good amount. Very disappointing fans. The fractals arent bad at 7v if only the motor was quieter... Being canadian selection he...

Re: Which 140mm case fans?
EDIT: alright i'm going to do what mkk did. picking up another ty-140 for the rear and use pwm. both fractal fans to the front of the case at 5v and im going to try a corsair 140mm fan for the top since i can get one for cheap. if the corsair can start at 5v i'll attach it to the built in fan contro...

Re: Which 140mm case fans?
You probably won't need two exhausts unless you're overclocking a lot, even if exhausts are the most effective way to achieve increased cooling. Try using the two included fans for the front intake, at 5 or 7V through the front controller. At least at 5V I can't hear mine and they do their job in t...

Which 140mm case fans?
I have a fractal R4 and currently only using the two stock fans that come with it. At 12v the case sounds like a wind tunnel and there is some motor noise. To solve the issue im looking to add two more 140mm fans and run all of them either 7v or 5v. Question is what fans should i get? The noctua NF-...

Fractal Define Mini and HR-02 Macho
Does anyone know if the macho with included fan will fit in this case and if so how much room is left over if any? Do you have to remove the side fan foam cover to make it fit? The specs on the fractal site say the case can fit heatsinks up to 160mm and the HR-02 is 160-162mm. My backup case choice ...

Re: Antec shows P280 Mini at Computex!
man where is this case? you would think review samples would be going out by now. I'm really hoping that removal of the center drive cage is possible + open up that area for longer cards. it looks like there's a ton of metal both right behind the front fans and behind the drive cages which would blo...

Antec p180 mini to Fractal Define R4?
I've had my 180 mini since it first came out and it's been good to me. I don't use any front fans and the back and top are set to the lowest speed. It's quiet but there's still a bit of noise. My new build is going to consist of: 3770k with thermalright hr-02 and TY-140 fan Asus Gene V matx Asus 670...

Or you could control TT Pro's fans manually or thru software (SpeedFan). Or you could get AC S1 + a 120mm fan of your choice and run it as above. AC S1 is somewhat beefier than TT Pro - just a little wider, to accommodate a 120 mm fan. TT Pro is wide enough for 92 mm fans "only". I had AC S1 on sev...

Accelero TWIN TURBO PRO silent?
for the noise obsessed here is this aftermarket cooler actually as silent as claimed? does it suffer from fan motor noise or air wooshing sound? i have a 460gtx with reference cooler and it's much too loud. before the 460gtx the loudest thing in my case was my hard drive. all my fans run at 800rpm o...

Some observations: the stock cooler looks like a good candidate for a fan swap: if it manages to cool the card quietly out of the box, it`s almost guaranteed that with a custom, quiet fan it will be inaudible when idle. how would you do a fan swap with these? the fan that comes in the reference coo...

i have the 1GB evga 460GTX with reference cooler. it's quiet but theres a bit of woosh noise since the fan cant run any lower than 40%. i think for most people it's not noticeable but for the OCD here it is. the good news is according to the evga boards a bios update is coming so the fan will run at...

use the sflex as the exhaust and put the nexus on the thermalright? an antec tricool rigged to 5v and set on med is very quiet(starts fine too), but moves very little air- this may be enough for the processor though. yeah im going to try the sflex as exhaust and nexus on the thermalright on thursda...

Well i did some tests tonight. First for hard drive placement. The very top and bottom slots are the best choices if you have two drives or the top if you only have one. As for the third fan behind the drive cage test results were very positive. Video card and cpu temps dropped by 2'C and case temps...

If you have this case and removed the front grill did it make any difference to your temperatures or noise?
I have tin snips i just don't want to waste all that time cutting if it makes no difference.

I don't know for sure but the thermalright should cool better. About the installation, the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe is used in thermalrights installation instruction on their homepage. So you won't have to bend any capacitors. No you do have to bend them, i found a post with someone else using the board ...

Has anyone ever tried drilling some holes in the back of the drive cage and adding another 120mm fan? Which of these two heatsinks would cool better? I hear mixed reviews about both heatsinks.... I would be using a 120mm SilenX 14dba fan with the thermalright and the zalman would be running on high. Also for those of you with the thermalright that had to bend capacitors, how easy was it to do so? Se...
