yeah, traditionally, nvidia support is much better than most other manufacturers. Problem w/ dual monitors on one card (i'm assuming you wanna run a single card) is that nvidia didn't start having decent support for that until the heavier (hotter) cards came out. I suppose something like this http:/...

Found a shop carrying spinpoints w/ nidec motors.

Don't know if this will help anyone, but i suppose we'll see. I was opting to replace my HD w/ a spinpoint since i've heard fantastic reviews of them here. Being in the computer parts mecca which is southern california, I found a site which does will call service as well, so I could just pick it up ...

Actually, my mobile xp is running at 2.5GHz right now, and it seems most people have been getting similar results. 1.575 is the lowest voltage my mobo will do unfortunately, but i believe if i could undervolt, it would still be just as stable.

Thanks for the tips. Picked up an offset ratchet from sears in the US; was quite surprised at their choices... they've got tons. I hear walmart's got some too but i'm not about to give my money to those bastards. I used stretch magic 1.8mm and it holds pretty well. My results have been poor though. ...

The problems I mention go way back starting from the BH6's (anybody remember those!!?) and up... I'm not sure if these problems apply still since Abit has had plenty of time to improve their QC with new designs and better production experience, so you gotta take my words with a grain of salt. 1. General consensus in the hardware community is that the xp2500 M is the best bang for the buck for Socket 462 at the moment. This all depends on which platform you wanna run on of course. 2. NF7 from Abit seems to be a popular board for undervolting. I've had bad experiences w/ Abit though so I'm...

I've got both the BQE (picked up for $60 on a special from mwave!) and the V1000. I would assume the V1100 is more quiet than the V1000, but here's my experience so far. The assumption that steel is much more quiet than aluminum definitely holds true, and while the V1000 is indeed an awesome case, i...

I'm running the ti4200 w/ zalman passive cooling (the OP1 was too noisy) for some light gaming and regular 2D. It gets quite hot but I haven't experienced any artifacting thus far.

Antec Phantom initial impressions in V1000

So I took the plunge and put down 160 for the Phantom which I'm hoping turns out to be sound investment. Mike, So does that mean you think a fanless PSU might work for a V1000? I remember thinking that it'd probably be a bad idea since there's no ventilation from other sources... This is all assuming you can get the case itself to take some heat? BTW, for anyone interested, the Phantom is only about $1...

Older revision Seasonics (a1 & a2) still around in retai

Just a word to the wise, if you're planning on purchasing a Seasonic, try and buy from a retailer which has a lot of turnover on inventory. Yesterday, 10/04/04, I visited two Fry's in my area to pick one up. To my dismay, ALL of the units on hand for the super silencers were revision a2 or below; cu...

Quality inconsistency w/ seagate 7200.7s?

So ever since I bought my first 7200.7, i've been a big fan of these drives. They're very quiet (sorta), cheap, and the 5 year warranty is unbeatable. My first one was purchased at a retail store (fry's) about 1 1/2 years ago and it was absolutely silent! Regular operation was fantastic; nearly no n...
