Indeed thats why i gave the xp120 as example. Yet zalman's site used to say that you couldn't use their heatpipe vga cooler in an inverted case like the lian-li's... quote: "If it is set up in such a way that the video card's GPU faces upwards, then this product cannot be used. Also, if you attempt ...

I take it the VM-101 is not usable with a lian-li v1100 with its inverted setup? Heatpipes don't work well when they're upside down i've read somewhere...probably around these forums :p But when i look at the XP-120, that has heatpipes too and in fact 2 of them are always inverted... Does anyone hav...

I own a v2100 myself and i'm pretty sure its your harddrives that cause the humming. Suspending them doesnt mean u cant move the case around, you just cant put it on its side. HD temperatures went up a little bit in my case, but nothing spectacular. The 120mm fan in front of the HD bay should keep y...

No they're not, they're rivited to the case floor and top of the drive bay compartement. Theres a thread about decoupling drives in a lian li v1100 where someone has had the idea of just drilling out these rivets. Personally, not being so handy with power tools ;), I have chosen to decouple the driv...

Yes the 754 socket is on its way out too, but will still be around for a good year or so... Fact of the matter is that if you choose socket 939 over 754 you don't even pay much more, and you've got a more futureproof system. If I had to assemble a system today it would be an Asus or MSI socket 939 m...

Isn't the Nexus a bit underpowered for the XP-120? I figured a massive heatsink like that should have more power available from a variable-speed fan. Where did you get the Papst fans? Was it a U.S. vendor? I'd like to give those a try as case fans as well. As I understand it the papsts produce more...

I don't mean to be rude, but what is there to research on amd64 systems? Its all simple as pie tbh.
Either go with socket 754 or socket 939, and choose a CPU with the same sockettype, and voila. If you need fairly decent hardware advice, go to www.anandtech.com (wich you probably know already).

Currently i have 2 Papst4412fgl 120mm fans, but i'm thinking of switching to 3 nexus real silents with the 3rd nexus going on a xp-120 (with some modding). The papsts are fine actually, but i want to see what the fuss is about with the nexuses :p And im going for the xp-120 because my current zalman...

I've just spent the last half hour suspending my 3 harddrives in a lianli 2100. The hum-noiselevel goes down remarkably here too. Seeking noise goes down even more. This case is very decent for silencing, but the original drive brackets&screws system really held it back. I removed the drive slider b...

Lian-li v1100 vs 2100
Hi everyone, Just a little comparison between the 1100 and the 2100. I've had both, only recently upgraded. The internal components are the same: a zalman all copper 7000b and 2x papst4412fgl @ just over 5V with zalman fanmates. Only 'mod' is on the exhaust fan thats been turned around so it sucks a...

I'm quite happy with my v1100 noisewise. Although for the price you'd think they'd include nice fans. At 12V they are very noise, so expect to replace them almost immediately. Also, harddrive suspension isnt too easy on this case, but somebody has found a way in these forums. If u have the extra mon...

Now my pc is pretty silent, but i discover that my screen (iiyama CRT) is making a strange buzz that i never heard before! Now it annoys me greatly ehehe :D I should have taken the blue pi...

Some questions...
Hi all, Ive got a 120mm fan that i wish to hook up to a fanmate. Problem is that it draws its power from a regular molex for harddrives, cdroms and what not. The fanmate connector is, as u know, alot smaller. Is there any way i still can connect the 2? Mind you, i'm no expert on electricitystuff, bu...
