Starsky, I mentioned that I'd posted elsewhere in more detail about my Seagate Momentus experiences. Yes, it's one drive (the ST94019A is a 40G, 4,200rpm 2.5"). I have some 80G Seagate 3.5" 7,200 A/V drives which are great and I bought Seagate by preference for video editing and would do so again. B...

For completions sake, I'm reitterating my view (more in-depth posts elsewhere) that the Seagate Momentus drives are rubbish - at least as far as being quiet goes, anyway. Seagate promote them as "inaudible" and that's just a lie. The Fujitsu 30G I had in an identical machine (Acer TM290) was much qu...

I probably have the very same Seagate Momentus 40G drive as Chuck Chan (the ST94019A) and - as per a couple of my other posts to this effect - I would also warn any potential buyers off them. I wouldn't be this vehement about it if Seagate or Acer had bothered with a decent reply but Acer didn't eve...

Momentus?
If this is refering to the Seagate Momentus drives, my (recent) experieince is that they whine like a dog. Very annoying especially after previously having an identical notebook (Acer TM290) with a very quiet drive (Fujitsu from memory). Also very irksome for Segate to promote them as "inaudible". Y...

I'm really peeved. I had an Acer TravelMate 290 with a nice quiet Fujitsu (from memory) 30G drive in it which I gave it to my sister when I bought a newer TM290 with faster wifi. The new machine came with a Seagate Momentus ST94019A 40G drive which Seagate's site promotes as "inaudible". Inaudible, ...
