Seems like motherboard monitor can do the trick. Haven't tried it yet, but on the homepage it says it supports EPIA M1000 boards. Jsut have to configure the fantemplistX.ini (X=fan number) for each fan.
The questeion now is hot can you run the case and CPU temperatures????

OK, got my system up and running now. EPIA M1000 Nehemiah in a Morex 3688 case. Between the CPU fan and case fan it's just too damn noisy. Does any one know of a program that can control the RPM's of the fans on this EPIA model?? I tried speedfan and some other programs but none seem to work with th...

I tried taking out the mob from the case and placed it on some antistatic material. Then it worked. So I mounted the board bag in the case again it worked. But it made a beep sound every 2-3 sec. The I mounted everything, disk, optical drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor and powered on the system. I...

OK tried another PSU with no result. But then I thought I would just try the original PSU that came with the morex 3688 case again but without the RAM stick plugged in the mobo. In other words only the mobo was connected. The result was both fans started spinning fine!? So I put the RAM stick in aga...

Yes I have a old kabinet in the basement with a 300 watt PSU in it. I'll give it a try when I come home from work today. Also I could try to use the external PSU from my laptop. It's at work though, so I'll just check if it's a 12V/5A like the one coming with the case. Actually I'll try taking the o...

Same problem  the fans just make a little twist and then that's it, they stay turned off!? This is weird!! Got any other ideas??...

Just did some calculations over the price difference of 8 watts (the difference in power usage between EPIA-5000 and EPIA ME6000). Over a years of constant usage with the price I have to pay for power in my country I would have to pay a total of 20.5$ more if using the EPIA ME6000 over the EPIA-5000...

Thanks for your reply stevea, you made some very good points. Yes you're right I'm planning to use the machine as cheap home server. The most important tast would be downloading stuff. I just thought that if it's gonna run 24/7 I might as well install some ftp and http on it. Performance is not a bi...

cheap, low power and fanless system
Hi I wanna built a system fit to run ftp, apache and do some downloading 24/7 running winXP. My criteria is that is has to be cheap, use as little power as possible, as small as possible and has to be able to run XP. This is what I have come up with myself so far: mobo: VIA EPIA-5000 case: Morex Cup...
