I just replaced the ADDA of my S12-430 with a Yate Loon D12SL It´s fantastic quiet right now. The fan speeds up to 980 r/min under heavy load. WD2500YS probably uses 125GB platters like WD5000YS (compared to 3 platters in WD2500YDwhich the YS replaces). The same for WD1600YS I guess, 3 heads vs 4 heads in WD1600YD (speculating...). No idea about WD4000YS.

Unfortunately, the S-type heatsink clip is only for HR-01, Ultra-90(A), SI-97A, and SI-128. The Ultra-120 is probably too heavy.

If you look at the Drive specifications summary for the individual SATA models, they have exactly the same acoustics as the respective PATA models. However, the SATA table shows otherwise. So which is correct?

The base should fit, probably at a very slight angle (unless you round the corners to shave off 2-3mm of diagonal length :|). But I think you gotta use a custom mounting mechanism, as the stock parts may not work.

Well, at least the Mine at 5V performs better than a fanless Ninja (due to space constraints). :D The fan is sandwiched between the two halves, and only the edges of the fan make light contact with the fins.
