Re: Fortron Source Aurum GOLD series 400-700w review

From the dirkvader.de review of the 400W, the idle fan noise seems to be a little on the high side. Kinda disappointing for a Gold unit. What'd you reckon?

It would be great to pair the i3-2100 with a H61 board such as MSI H61MU-E35 (B3) or Biostar TH61U3+. :D

Re: Intel X25-V G2 40GB SSD

Hi,

Have a query regarding this SSD in Windows XP.

Saw from Intel_SSD_Toolbox_User_Guide_2.0.pdf that "Intel suggests running the tool weekly to help optimize performance."

May I know, for the 40GB SSD, about how long does it take for each run of the Intel SSD Optimizer?

Hi,

Is the HDTach random access of 16.7ms with or without AAM engaged? If it is with (without) AAM, what is the random access time without (with) AAM?

Thanks. :)

I see a few capacitors (near the audio ports) that are not.

Its a 500GB single platter?

~50% jump in platter density against the WD10EADS but its STR is only marginally faster... (~80 vs ~75-77)

hi. Apologies for digging this thread. Wish to ask, in what ways is the 120mm kama-flex inferior to s-flex? If i'm not wrong, kama-flex is slightly cheaper. Any reason to go for s-flex? Thanks.

The 16.3ms random access speed measured in the review should be with AAM enabled, from the many screenshots I've seen. There's nothing "curiously high" about that.
