Re: Best $40 Hard Drive - low noise and good performance
I've been looking at the Samsung HD502HJ Which is more quiet and more reliable? The Samsung HD502HJ or the WD Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX / WD5000AAKS ? I won a HD502HJ, and its not silent, but its very quiet at least to my standards, more than any hdd i have used, i have no experience with the WD Cavia...

Re: PSU suggestion
@ces, thanks for replying to my thread, You need a 12 volt power brick. You also need to make sure that the brick connects to the Picopsu. Apparently you can't always determine that visually. I don't know how you can make sure. It would be nice if someone found a good 175 or 200 watt brick, made sur...

Can Thermalright HR-02 be installed on Intel DH61DLB3
Hi, Im trying to build an HTPC and download station, ideally low power consuming with very little noise, I'm not going to OC this PC, just trying to build a small yet not as slow pc as the atoms netops, what im looking is, 1) That its stable, should be on 24/7. 2) That consumes the least possible el...

Re: SFF Case for Sandy Bridge CPU?
That is a good observation. I have read that the stock 1155 cpu cooler is only 20mm high. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i5-2500-2400-2300_10.html That seems awfully low. In the alternative you can try the SILVERSTONE NT07-1156 90mm CPU Cooler - 93 x 36.5 x 93mm http://www.newegg...

Re: SFF Case for Sandy Bridge CPU?
http://www.mini-box.com/M350-universal-mini-itx-enclosure will take a mini-ITX Sandy Bridge build (I've done this), though the external PSU isn't ideal. The ISK-100 is a roll-your-sleeves-up-and-mod enclosure as far as I'm concerned. Just wondering since you have already done Sandy bridge ITX build...

Also I am afraid Nexus at 7V does not provide sufficient headroom for OC ~ 3.8GHz - 4GHz where I am aiming. I am almost sure that to achieve this desired clock I need at least 1200 rpm fan so PWM is ideal solution. Now it might be true that Nexus is quieter than any PWM fan at the same rpm but cons...

I just bought a Corsair 650TX due to high reviews given here and in other places, aswell as good comments in the forums. The manufacturer breaks down like this: VX450 - Seasonic VX550 - CWT HX520 - Seasonic HX620 - Seasonic TX650 - Seasonic TX750 - CWT The TX650 is based on a revision of the S12-II ...

You left out one possible fan mount point - there is provision to mount a fan in the side panel, in the middle of that big circular mesh piece.
