Well time to go RGB for new build but which fans??
RBG fans are really looking nice these days. I just picked up an NZXT H700i in white and black. I noticed it does have the CAM options so using their fans may work out best but I am more interested in the fans that are silent.

Re: NF-F12 hummmm and vibration..
So the 140mm version I have blowing out the back is silent.. no issues.. Honestly I think the Redux fans have a better sound. Being an an all tile office I can hear EVERYTHING. So the NF-F12 are blowing upward exhausting air out. I may flip them to see if there is a difference. I will try soft corne...

NF-F12 hummmm and vibration..
Well after going through so many fans I finally ended up getting a fan I thought would be it.. The Noctua NF-F12 LInus edition (will do white corners later). For now I removed the soft corners and mounted to hte radiator. Anything over 300rpm I get a humm and a surprising vibration in the top of the...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
How is the motor noise on the GT PWM? I run my fans about 400 rpm for light load and I don't mind things ramping up some when gaming since I have either the speakers turned up or headphones on. I really wanted to find a white and black fan or all white fan but it's looking like this might be impossi...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
Anyone know anything about these fans? I have actually tried something like these in the past but not a PWM fan.. they had a nice sound and barely any motor noise. They would match my build perfectly and have decent static pressure at full speed. Going to pick these up today. http://www.frys.com/pro...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
Well I am personally still on the hunt.. what sucks is a I need a black and white or all white fan to go with my theme and that is as important to me as the noise when you spend as much as I have spent to make sure things match. What I can tell you is Phanteks PH-F120MP fans that I got are horrible....

Re: Best white 140mm fan option?
Another fan that might be worth checking specially because of the white restriction is the NB-eLoop® Series 140mm , in my expirience with the M12-S1, they go 100rpms more than what they are rated, so if the behavior is similar, i would go with Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B14-1 Bionic fan 600U/min ( 140x1...

Re: Best white 140mm fan option?
I really like the Aerocool DS 140 in white but not sure if it's any good.. I read mounting it as top exhaust it will have issues but thats not how I plan to use it. If I were you, I'd just try it, given the rather low starting voltage (>3.0V: moreover, as a matter of fact they claim to use a fluid ...

Re: What is the quietest 240mm AIO?
Swiftech 220x or Predator 240 probably the most silent because of the PWM pump they use. I find the pumps to be the biggest issue. Overall a custom loop is much more silent with something like a D5 PWM pump like i use. Dead silent.

Best white 140mm fan option?
Looking for a good silent all white 140mm fan for rear exhaust in my case. Rear grill has been cut away to help with wind noise. I really like the look of hte Aerocool Dead silent but not sure how quiet it is. I know they only slow down to about 600rpm. Also thinking about maybe a Phanteks option. I...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
I'm so scared to try the Fractal case fans after having the ones that came with the case click so badly. I got hte phanteks on the way that have high static pressure but won't run as slow as most out there.. it says 500rpm minimum which isn't bad and probably slow enough not to bother me.

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
I have heard this industrial version has motor noise.. any truth to this? The 3-pin version runs at 800 rpm at 5V and 1200 rpm at 7V so yes noise could be an issue. The PWM version is somewhat quieter, running as it does from 450 rpm at 20% duty cycle. I have full PWM control with my board so speed...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh
If Noctua had a black NF-F12 I would already have it on there. They do, it's the Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 2000RPM PWM 120mm. Speed range is 450 to 2000 rpm. Should idle in the 450 to 550 rpm range. Not cheap at around £20 in the UK but if it must be black... I have heard this industrial version ...

Re: Exhaust Fan for Fractal R5
I'm in a very similar situation. I want to move the rear Fractal fan on my R5 to pair it with the front intake, and get a PWM 140mm for the rear (and possibly another for the bottom; haven't decided yet). No one has mentioned the Phanteks PH-F140HP, which sounded quite appealing in the "First 140 m...

You are correct, I actually figured this one out before I saw your reply. After setting to PWM I can run my fans as low as ...

Just noticed someone replied to this lol.. The Noctua's full tilt are very loud but I am about to throttle them down to a hair over 300rpm. I let them throttle up some during games but what I like most is the tone they have. Very happy with them although I have been tempted to try the Be Quiet! PWM ...

Please help.. Asus z97 fan control.
I just moved from an Asus Z87 to a Z97 for true PWM on all fan headers. My last setup my CPU cooler had 3 pin phanteks that I used on the chipset fan output and my Noctua case fans I ran off the CPU fan header to get complete control. Now I only got control of a group of case fans not each fan. So w...

Re: Macho Zero?
Welcome to SPCR. It's a decent cooler. Whether or not it'd work well for you will depend on the case and the other airflow in the case. I prefer getting a fanned cooler that's inaudible. Check out the Scythe Kotetsu. Great performance, inaudible, and ~$40. You can run a fan on the Macho or passive....

Anyone know if the Antec ISK-300 case PSU throttles the fan? I hate to stick a low rpm fan in there and find out it spins way to slow because it's meant to throttle a high rpm fan. ALso, I have decide to go ahead iwth the PWM 80mm Noctua fans since I do have fan control via software with the mobo. E...

Quiet 80mm on a budget?
Built a little HTPC and the Antec tri-cool fans sound HORRIBLE. I was going to do NOctua but way to expensive considering this is just a media box for the bedroom. I found the Nexus for 20$ cheaper for all 3 I need. Are there any budget 80mm that sound good? My local Frys carries the Marathon fans a...

the noise floor in 99% work/home environments is higher than a single slow fan. I cant justify spending that much to be fanless, if the difference can't actually be heard (unless you stick your ear right next to the case).
