4850e/HR01Plus Passive?
Bought a Scythe Flex 120 1200rpm for my 4850e, but am wondering about running it passively.
Case is an Akasa Eclipse with the same type of Flex @ 5v as the only fan; the PSU is an old unmodded S12-430 .
Thanks.

HR-01Plus North or South
Installing an HR01Plus on a Socket AM2 Board.
The choices are the fan blowing up or down.
Don't really want hot air blown into the PSU. How would it be blowing away from the PSU?
Thanks.

HR-01Plus on Socket AM2.
Installing an HR-01Plus on a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H.
The backplate is not held securely to the rear of the mobo. There is a large amount of rattle. It was not like this when I installed the same heatsink on a Socket 775 mobo a couple of months ago.
What gives?

PSU for HTPC
Planning an HTPC build. Looking at a conventional PSU (i.e. not Pico). I know I don't need much power, but the HX620 in my main machine has sold me on modular cables, and the least powerful modular I have seen is 425 watts. The HX and a previous S12 have have left me well disposed towards Seasonic, ...

Life of hot horizontal sleeve bearing?
Recently put an S1 Rev 2 on my HD 4870. Tied a Nexus 120 to it.
Since read warnings about horizontal and hot sleeve bearings.
What would be a reasonable expectation of life for the fan - it's not only horizontal but on a card that throws out a prodigious amount of heat when under load?
Thanks.

The question is where do the go? The five are not the only left overs, only the unique ones - I have dozens for fixing drives. I've put the two smooth thumbscrews back, but am still not quite sure about the three unique screws. I seem to recall removing them to allow the mobo tray to be removed and ...

Thanks for the reply. Hadn't looked at that.
However it seems it's better at stopping noise rather than vibration, and it is the later I am concerned about.

Akasa Mirage screws?
After setting up my system in the Mirage I have 2 sets of screws left over. 1) 3 screws unlike any in the bags the machine came with. Pointed, course threaded with large domed head and large drive. 2) 2 thumbscrews, unlike others because of smooth shaft between head and thread. Two others in, North ...

Thanks for the reply. Was planning on keeping the pre-installed paste on the S1, but have now decided to ditch it so I can dry run without worrying about keeping it clean. Would have already done the installation, except discovered didn't possess a screwdriver small enough for the screws around the ...

S1 installation on HD 4870
Do I need to adjust the base as per Step 2 of the installation of the cooler itself.
Which set of mounting holes: A or B?
Thanks.
EDIT: I see on Arctic's site that for the HD 3870 you only remove the stock GPU cooler leaving those on the RAM and VRMs. Is the 4870 the same?

Difference in screws?
My new Akasa Mirage V4 came with a huge number of screws of various types.
Among the coarse threaded are two that both have hexagonal heads, but one is smooth underneath, the other has a radiating pattern of lines.
Are these intended for different things?
Thanks.
