not per se however for instance the ASUS P5AD2 decided for some strange reason to use the -5V rail something that went out of common usage with ISA buses and thus any compliant ATX12V v2.0 PSU (Dual Rail) wont work with it, because per the spec it doesnt have a -5V rail as it was eliminated in the 2...

How silently can these alternate extreme cooling methods be done? -Ed very quite one small micropump being the only pump and its a canned magnetic drive (correction its 10 atmospheres) a cut and paste --------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Does "Evacuate the heat" role for the PSU work
The whole dual fan PSU idea seems to have been promoted by Enermax & AMD around the time the original Athlon appeared. [Some of may recall how the Athlon pushed the then-standard 250W PSUs (especially no-name generic ones) to overload, causing all kinds of mysterious instability issues that were ev...

direct LN2 immersion wouldnt work too well (too much of a good thing :p ) but that doesnt mean you need to actually pump the Fluorinert like in a supercomputer check both mission submersible articles by Ramil Tranquilino http://www.octools.com/index.cgi?caller=supercool.html (they are quite old now)...

oh I dont know think the application is slight larger than you might imagine starting with the US Army :p spray cooling is used for thermal control on alot of "ruggedized" equipment, and is making inroad to high density enterprise computing, of course in the high density application direct die isnt ...

Do the math here: http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/ There's a good chance you will need a bigger PSU than the 470.. And once again. Let's not forget that these calculators are absolute worst case. well as far as calculators goes, that one sucks (sorry) its very important to actually determin...

Why do you care if your fluid is non-conductive? (Conductivity is not the problem with using just plain water in a WC loop) direct contact like in Spray Cooling basically a direct die phase change (or within a block but then it wouldnt need to be non-conductive) that fluid however wouldnt be a good...

to answer the question posed in the title, yes indirectly the main changes beteen v1.3 and v2.0 are 1 dual +12V rails in the new spec, this isolates the CPU and mobo from the potential fluctuation that drives in particular can induce on the +12V rail, however a well regulated supply can get by witho...

Re: Would a dual exhaust or dual intake PSU work well?
Since fans in parrallel are suppposed to work much better than fans in series that would depend on the resistance which in a supply can be considerable (depends on the supply) you might actually benefit from the added static pressure a few links Air Flow Vs. Pressure Characteristics Parallel & Seri...

Just to clarify: Despite what some of the posters seem to suggest, SPCR has never reviewed or recommended a Tagan PSU. SPCR Forum members may have been positive about Tagan, but the brand has never been reviewed by SPCR. Hope everyone's tales of woes are resolved in the end... or at least that you ...

well software monitoring of rails is great for relative values but definative values should be determined with a multimeter that TruePower 550 should be up to that load, as its rated at 30A (even deducting the temperature difference, and the fact your not running the heavier config) Its possible its...

Why on Earth are you recommending SIX HUNDRED WATT PSUs for this poor guy? I mentioned a 600 watt, not recommended it well I did recommend the PCP&C 510 if it was money no object and since its rated at 40C by comparision its a 600 watt but that is for the load regulation and AC ripple available as ...

I have my ATX PS\2 form factor PSU in a 4U, and the ducting options provided is enough to actually eliminate the need of a PSU fan because directly upstream there is a 120mm to force feed it but then its not exhausting the mobo compartment either and there is a considerable temperature differential ...
