Re: Help with aftermarket cooler for silencing the AMD 5850?
I can only speak from my experience, but I can say I have never had this issue. As a little background I should say my 5850 is a Sapphire Vapor-X which has a slightly different PCB layout and has a VRM heatsinks attached (the bottom card in this pic): http://images.anandtech.com/reviews/video/sapph...

Re: Nexus Prominent 5
Since the 140mm nexus real silent fan is not sold separately from their cases, I am unsure if anybody has tested them. Do you have any links to reviews of the case?

Re: Help with aftermarket cooler for silencing the AMD 5850?
I have just found out that a new version of "Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus", called simply "Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus II" witch has compatibility for the 5850. I posted about it here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=62304 I guess I will try and live with the...

Accelero XTREME Plus II the new king?
While researching a new VGA cooler for my AMD 5850 I have found out that a revision 2 is coming out for the Accelero XTREME Plus. The main changes seems to be wider compatibility and no need for special mounting kits for different cards (at least not for most cards). Technical details taken from var...

Re: Help with aftermarket cooler for silencing the AMD 5850?
Thanks for the suggestions! I have been reading up on some of your suggestions and these are my thoughts: How do you control the fans on the coolers? Can you connect them to the graphics card and have them spin up at load or can they work at low voltage all the time? The Gelid Icy Vision s...

Help with aftermarket cooler for silencing the AMD 5850?
What's the best aftermarket cooler for silencing the AMD 5850? Sadly the top rated Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus is not compatible. that would have been my first choice even tough its expensive. It will be used in the following system: CPU: Intel Core i7-2500k CPU Heatsink: Prolimatech Genesis...

Re: P-183 discontinued... replacement P-183 V3?
On a side note, I find the P183 noisier than the SOLO it replaced, even when I turned off all the exhaust & intake fans and just kept the CPU fans (and video card fan since I can't turn that off) running. that is logical, given that the p183 is a high-performance case with much greater airflow capa...

Re: Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus GPU Cooler
Thanks for a nice review! Anybody know why its not compatible with the radeon 5850? edit: I did some research and it seems it is compatible with the ATI Radeon HD 5850, but only for single DVI port layout version. So I guess the top DVI connection gets in the way somehow. I wonder if you can remove ...

Hi, The one thing it will NOT be able to do is run passively? It definitely needs moving air. But maybe a chimney cooling solution would work? I have tried this with my 7900GT and the fan speed does not change.
