As long as you have decent airflow, you really shouldn't need a fan on your northbridge. Just make sure there is some air moving around it, perhaps from the cpu cooler or whatever, and monitor the temps the first time you try it. Also might help to use thermal compound rather than those heatpads.

Dunno if this will fit your bill, but I was thinking about buying this one for a while - Evercase matx. Fits matx boards, full power supplies, and has front and back 120mm mounting points.

i'll say it for a third time: Microcenters have OEM Samsung HDs, and I hand picked my own Nidec motor. Tyrdium - you should check it out in Cambridge.

my suggestion is to shop around newegg, or any other big stores with a good selection of cases, and just look for beige boxes - they're usually smaller than the "appealing" cases, but you'll have a hard time finding one that has 120 mounts and is small.

it'd be cool if someone has actually bought one, and seen whether or not this thing can hold the proverbial candle to the real zalman.
