Re: Question on Fan Control on Afterburner re: MSI 6870

Wow,
thanks for the quick reply. Good to know I was afraid the idle RPM's might be too low I'm gonna try 28% to start
Thats pretty great you can run 40% under load. I'm assuming your temps are within range at that RPM's sounds
like a great cooler. Again thanks for the reply.

Question on Fan Control on Afterburner re: MSI 6870

Hello all, I finally took the leap and ordered a graphics card that can do some gaming. I have decided I can sacrifice some noise (I'm currently passive, I know there are passive gaming cards :) ) Anyway, did a bit of lurking here and it seems the Hawk MSI 6870 is a well thought of silenter card. My...

Use Old Seasonic 400W in newer system

Just wanted to run this by everyone. Seems like I should be good to go with my older PS but I just wanted to check and make sure I'm not nuts. Its a Seasonic Super Tornado 400W (3.3@28A, 12V@22A). I put my newer system into this page http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp and got 213 w...

Great thread here, just wanted to say thanks. I am currently running an X-Fi Xtreme Music and a Chaintech AV-710 on my current box (your modding is making me think whether the dual is necessary :) Great looking system

Nice, but i still doubt your load temps are 50C with a passive ninja. 50C with Smart Guardian right? thats probably about 60-70C from the CPUs diode (with Speedfan/Coretemp) since the DFI's CPU temp reading is way off (10-20C too low). When my opty is at 50C (measured by Speedfan/Coretemp) Smartgua...

David, Thanks for the response. I had thought of painting and the only thing that worried me would be possible damage to the fanmate (the metal parts that show through the black plastic holes). I suppose it would be worth a try as I have another fanmate in case I mess it up. Thanks for the info on t...

Advice on external fanmate 2 mount on p150

I'm currently collecting parts to put in my new p150 case. The vid card is going to be cooled buy a vf900 and I'd like to have easy access to the fanmate so I can turn it down to 5v and then up to full speed when I game. The problem is I'm having trouble deciding on how to mount it outside the case....

Melamine Tiles no Longer available individually from MC

I was planning on using these well spoken of ceiling tiles in my new sonata II build and was putting together an order today with McMaster-Carr and noticed you can no longer buy items 9216T1 or 9216T2 individually you must buy a huge case of them for like 60 bucks or something. They are still on a c...

VF700 w/Panaflo, safe to connect to x800GTO2 Header?

I searched but wasn't able to find a definitive answer on this question. I've got a saphire x800GT02 and VF700-CU that I'm getting ready to install into a upgraded box. I was planning on replacing the vf700 fan with a panaflo L1A (MIJ) either by drill or by glue gun. If make an adapter and plug the ...

OVI, Am I right in thinking that you now have the Panaflo L1A connected directly to the X800GTO2? Isn't the panaflo rated for .82A well over the stock fan's .35A? I'm thinking of replacing my vf700's fan with L1A and being able to control the fan with ATI Tool would be a huge plus. However I'm a bit...

Would you mind posting some pics of the HD suspension up close. I'm about to tackle suspending two 3700s (one of 1 drive the other with two) and your single drive suspension looks very clean. Thanks and great job.

Thanks for the reply, Your's and Ralf's case designs have been invaluable to my planning of the system. About the fans I think that you may be right about them being too loud. I figured I would give them a shot first since I have them. I'm hoping that OEM Panaflo that Ralf liked so much will work ou...

Thoughts on a first time silencer's A64 build

Hello all, I've been lurking in these forums for about 3-4 months. I come from the noisy overclocker's school (started with the Cel 300@450 back in the day) so I've been trying to learn as much as I can on the silencing front as thats the direction I'm going to go with my new system. Thank god for t...

Glad to hear it rtree. I bought it for the moms comp and I'm not going for extreme silence but it sounds like running it on auto will work out fine. She isn't much of a gamer so I don't think the noise will ramp up too often 8) Thanks for the update.

I'd be interested in hearing your experience as well. I bought it on the same sale. Its going into a friends box who is by no means a OCer or a gamer so I don't forsee any problems. I don't think you should get too worried yet, as getting that PS when you have a 6800GT seems quite absurd to say the ...
