The unfortunate thing is that both fans on both PSUs exhibit loud clicking and whine that could be heard very clearly. I decided to mod the PSU by swapp...

all my SCSI drives uses Fluid Bearing motors and they are not that noisy at all. I have then installed in my lower P180 drive cage and vibration is virtually non-existent. The case shields the drive noise quiet well. The enclosure I selected should further kill the drive noise. I am not letting go o...

SilenX disappointment
This was a while ago, but seeing the unacceptable marketing of that company, i would like to share my story: Several months ago, I purchased a variety of fans for my new system. I was skeptical of SilenX's 80MM fan 11 db fans but i purchased one anyways just for the sake of trying it. I also purchas...

Can the Smart Drive Copper 2002 be used with the 15.3K SCSI?
I read on their website that they tested it with a 10K IBM SCSI HD. Now IBM SCSIs are very hot and noisy, while the Cheetah 15.3K is extremely cool running for a SCSI drive. will the smart drive overheat the HD? I really need to silence the beast. or do you guys think this is a better solution: http...
