I have never used (or even considered) an Ali chipset, I'm still not going to now they have changed a letter, the ATI's USB performance is bad enough. I will pass on the results of my LAN performance tests, (not scientific), I cant be bothered with netio, or Iperf, so I have made my up my own. Basic...

Sorry Aleksi but the SLK1650's PSU has 2 fan's, one 92mm (underside), and one 80mm (back), this is the UK version, yours may be different outside of the UK. Whether their PSU's have 20mm fans I dont know, but in the system next to me, the PSU fan'S are pretty quiet, as is the 120mm case fan (modded ...

As Mats has pointed out. The board is a fake, here is some more info. http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1038408 I found what I was looking for in the above article, why it had an additional heatsink in the top left corner of the board, the MOFSET's, even worse, a 4cm fan, and another...

I should have been more specific, yes the brush is nylon, but I only use it on fans + heatsinks, not on components, never ever had a problem caused by static (not that i'm saying they dont happen). Also, care has to be tak...

If you have built machines before, why not do it again. 30 mins per PC, 60 mins to install the software. Get yourself some imaging software, then you only have to install one PC, and image the rest @ 15 mins each. I make that 4 hours 30 mins, and you just know the machines are going to be better tha...

I have never personally seen it permanently kill a system, just temporarily. Also, do'nt forget laptops, especialy if its a really badly badly designed on that draws air through the keyboard, and then blows it out of the side/back (twas a HELL laptop). It worked perfectly after being taken apart, an...

I am currently testing this board, and comparing it to an MSI KT6 Delta which uses a VIA KT600 NB + VIA VT8237 SB. I was shocked when I saw the results of the USB test, which were conducted using a Maxtor DM9 2MB 120GB drive in a Belkin USB 2 Caddy. I downloaded and installed the latest ATI SB drive...

You missed something (unless I did). The actual heatsink. BTW do you have CnC enabled in the BIOS, the CPU Driver installed, AND (the one everyone forgets) Power management set to "Minimal Power Management". The reason for the fan spinning faster while sucking may (not certain) be because it's not c...

The overclockers classic "Alpha PAL 6035" and similar "PIN" designed heatsinks are the only ones that have ever had a serious benefit from having the fan suck, rather than blow, and thats due to the "PIN" design. You need more than just a pat on the back, Antec take note, Black/Blue Cases, with improved intake ventilation.

That gives me an idea or 2 to do to my Sonata (cutting, not the paintjob).

My PSU is the standard Sonata 380W, it does NOT ramp up at all under load, but it's still too noisy for me, and at some point will be going, and ideally replaced with a Phantom.
