Well heck... I'll have to keep an eye out for anything happening to ya. Dunno if ya remember years ago when I played planet Guinness? Well, similar this time around; Newcastle, of Broonale. ;) Are you at least part of an Alliance? I could see about inviting you over to the group I'm with (and have b...

is this officially the longest SPCR thread yet? It is for the folding forum... but zyzzyxs' 'What are you listening to now' holds the record for SPCR.D Hey! I resemble that remark! 8) As for me and Folding, I unfortunately stopped quite awhile ago. Beginning of this last summer when it was ge...

120V AC squirrel cage fan needed for fireplace 'heatilator'
This isn't exactly computer related, but I figured that coming back here would likely be a good source of knowledge for this search. I'm looking to get more heat out of the generic fake-log propane fireplace insert that we have in the living room. I plan to construct some tubing to loop around and o...

I've thought about F@H and Wine, but haven't looked into whether that can run as a 'service' (durn Windows terms) or not, but I doubt it. Yeah, I'm always logged into the system, but its nice not having to click anything to get FAH going, or to know that its going if I reboot and walk away. Regardin...

Well, didn't do much Folding over the summer, got too durn warm in here. But, now that its cooling off a bit, I've got all four systems going at it again. Last I checked, was at 175ppd. Well, I say four systems, and that's true, but its probably more like the output of 1 1/2 new systems. AMD XP-M @ ...

I turned my folding off around the first of the month, was too darn hot here as well. We've A/C in the house, but this room was still much warmer than the rest. Not worth it at the time. Still had all three system on, just not Folding. Made a difference. Probably won't be firing them back up until e...

Back to three Folders, hopefully back to 200PPD
Dug out my old backup system, the wee little HP eVectra, a P3-566. Its not much, but it should add just enough that I can get to, and stay at, 200PPD.
I might even toss the screensaver on my parent's system. Dunno.

I'd recommend sending a PM to folks in the upper ranks that haven't turned in a WU in a while. Neil, I know you sent me a PM sometime last year regarding the same subject. It got me Folding again. I'd stopped for some reason, and just hadn't remembered to set it up again. Worked for me, fair chance ...

For my two functional systems, I went for silence first (OK, I did overclock my XP-M, but its still using a 5v fan). Once they're silent, then I run F@H as a bonus. Should the chance come that I could build a small folding farm (say, 6 node) I would still concentrate on silence first. Well, maybe. I...

I'll tag that, and watch it. Don't have the full interest back to check on it right now. I'm in process of job and house hunting, having just moved. But, I'm looking forward to finally getting my own place, be able to set up a collection of whatever decent systems I can. Electric rates are cheap her...

Ya know, I was just coming back here to look for info on folding monitoring again. I fired it back up on my server, and found the old FAHStats program on there. Fired that up and all the settings still work. But with all the new work units, I don't have the point values, so its not a complete help. ...

I bailed out midway through this round. I took a week off to do the AIDS Lifecycle ride and just couldn't get my interest back for the game. Its been awhile, I dunno why this came to mind today, but it did, so I'll toss in an update. Back in November: Just visited my favorite TypingTest.com the other day, outta the blue. Managed a 54wpm on a three minute test. Looking back to my last post of speed results three months ago in August, I wa...

I've played the T'Chopt'Ka twice before. That 7% from the Plating Factory doesn't sound like much, but its noticeable. You can get some GREAT durability on stuff, and then their special ability boosts durability even further. And I loved their Tortoise Battleship instead of Dreadnoughts, very effect...

yeah I"ve noticed very little activity aswell. The rounds are pretty long though; 100 days is a long time. What if a month was reduced to 10 minutes? Definatly move things along MUCH faster. Seeing as I don't always have 100 days of straight internet acess and I'm kinda addicted to this game. Zyzzy...

I fiddled about with that mobo for awhile. Lost interest in the dually thing though and sold it. If I remember correctly, I had SLK-800s fitting fine on there. I'm not sure if the SLK-900 will work, might get a bit close between the two sockets. A cooler like the SLK-800 is great because it doesn't ...

Martok: We're only 52 years into a 300 year round right now. With one month every 20 minutes, that works out to 6 years/day. That gives us just over 40 days left for this round. I would suggest that if you're interested, sign up and check it out; maybe even towards the end of the round. Then you'll ...
