Wooden Silent Case
Here are just some of the final pictures of a wooden case I decided to build a year ago. I love spcr and the product reviews....very useful in deciding which components to purchase and how to deal with silencing the ones I have. http://i.xanga.com/JSealy00/t/59.JPG http://i.xanga.com/JSealy00/t/60.J...

I would also suggest the Eheim 1048. I am using it and I love it-it provides great flow rate and is very quiet. Also, it is a strong enough pump for future expansion to GPU and chipset cooling-right now I am cooling my GPU and CPU with it, and I have an huge case (the 1048 pumps the water up about 2...

Smart Drive I just installed....
So, I read the hard drive recommended article and saw that the two Molex Silent Drives that I have on my two 40 gb maxtor 7200 rpm drives was probably not good for heat reasons. I had checked the temperature sticker after some operation and it was hot, but not quite 'too hot', so I left them in. But...

I would recommend the Volcano 9: http://heatsinkfactory.com/cgi-bin/HFAstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=HS-008 It has variable fan speed and is fairly cheap at 20 bucks and is one big hunk of metal:-) But of course....if you want "the" quietest way to cool it, that would probably be water cooli...

My experience with water cooling is that it DOES help reduce noise a lot, but this comes at a price....of money, safety, and its a bit more complicated... Looking back, it would have been cheaper (and probably just as efficient for not overclocking...) to have just gone with a high quality heatsink ...

paxmate
I have tried both of these products and I found niether very effective. They are both meant for different things....if you have a lot of vibrational noise, dynamat will help you...paxmate is geared towards high frequency noises...such as little fans, and it kills a little high pitched hard drive noi...

I would just like to say how wondeful the silent drive enclosers are from www.quietpc.com (link: http://www.quietpcusa.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=8&Product_ID=1&CATID=1) Ever since I bought two of these babies for my two hard drives...noise has dropped drastically. The two hard drives were horrible w...
