I mount coolers on my DG45FC using #8 machine screws, nuts and non-conductive washers. You can't tighten them up as much as you can with the stock hardware, but I haven't seen any disadvantage to this. My board is mounted flat in an HTPC, so no issues with the weight of the cooler bending the board...

BTW, if you are really into Russian secret conspiracy stuff, look up "Dead Hand" "Dead hand" doesn't really sound like a conspiracy, more like paranoia... In order to be effective, the Russians had to make sure it was not a secret. "It was to be announced at the Party Congress on Monday. As you kno...

With XP OEM my experience is the big OEMs (Dell HP etc) do tie it to the hardware but "ordinary" OEM windows will work if transferred to another PC, although this is against the license restrictions. This is more what I was recalling, as well. I don't believe you've ever been allowed (by the EULA) ...

Diversion/destruction of these asteroids is a lot more complex than you would suspect. You just can't necessarliy just hit them with a laser or a nuke. Depending on what they are made of, there could be no effect. I think that is why they are talking about an "Apparatus" in the article. Probably som...

Anyway, could you put me your HTPC detailed specs with some photos and your case, please? Because I haven't found the case you have suggested (Monuel 312B)Javier That's because I spelt it wrong  It's Moneual 312B. See the build thread at AVSForums, including one with the Nexus LOW, which is b...

Just a few notes: I am running the DG45FC with the Big Shiruken. I found it easier to mount the HSF with 8-32 machine Screws, nuts, and non-conductive washers than the system Scythe provided. Unless you have tentacles for fingers, I suggest you plan on doing the same, although the RevB may be small ...

I like the short depth, but I have to admit I don't like the faceplate much. Rather than the usb/sound ports, I would rather have a 3.5" drive bay with a fold down front plate so I could put in the ports I want. For me, the LC17 is about the best faceplate Silverstone makes, even though the second 5...

Please bear with me, as I have another question. It is said in the review that " the PSU, ideally, should be a 120mm fan design — an easy requirement to fulfill, as almost all retail ATX12V power supplies sport 120mm fans " (on page 2). The following might sound like a stupid question, but would ...

The LC17 is not a small case. It is 170mm High, so all but the biggest coolers will fit. I don't have mine any more, so I can't measure for you, but you might be able to fit something in there up to about 130mm high. My brother-in-law got a Nexus LXM-8200 in there, but I am not sure if the case pane...

If the data is that important, it might be worth just buying a replacement. I wouldn't count on someone lending you a drive to take apart.
