The most efficient PSU for normal use, that I know of, is the Corsair VX450W.
I have one in my current system. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Interesting that two people have a system similar to mine and is upgrading to a E/Q6600 - I have a Barton 2500+ on a Abit NF7-S 2.0 with a Zalman 7000 AlCu (version 1 , so I had to mod it to mount it on the Barton) in a Antec SLK3700 case and I'm upgrading very soon to a Q6600 system. If you're goin...

Re: How To Cool A Graphics Card Cheaply (Dial Up Warning?)
Not sure if anyone's suggested this before - Dead PCI card (well it's dead now). Hole's been cut with a Dremel. I would never have suggested it myself .. It's too much work and you destroy a PCI card. I have a much simpler solution : 1) Find a PCI slot cover 2) Bend it 3) Attach fan 4) Mount in PC ...

On Feb 2nd 2003 I recieved this message from MikeC : "You're the lucky winner of a Seasonic 300 PSU!" And I'm still using that PSU .. thanks Mike! It's good and quiet. However the next time I'm building a PC I will be putting a Chill Innovation PSU in it. I have already built a PC for one of my frie...

Try using ATItools feature to detect 2D mode and set it to underclock in 2D. I have my 9700 set to run at 215 core / 250 mem (too low will make it unstable .. I don't suggest going under 210mhz core) For thoose with compatible boards 8rdavcore from hasw.net can be used to over/underclock the CPU bas...

 " including SPCR's pages. " yep.. too bright for me, although I do like the grey back-back ground as you see around the logo.. Extremely lownoise heatpipe-towers
I wanted to point out this recent test by Madshrimps.be : http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=213 In it they mostly test various heatpipe-tower-coolers and find them to perform great .. also at low-airflow/low-noise settings. One of them .. the Sharkoon HSP1 , outperforms even the Th...

Here's a crazy idea. If you use double windows you could put in some extra work and make the two windows a sealed unit with an intake and outtake for water. Filling it up with water should dramaticly increase the mass and thereby the sound insulation. If you do water cooling it would serve as a spif...
