After settling down w/ my PC.. and letting it run 24/7 over the last couple of days.. My temps are reading 84.2 degrees in case, 114.8 degrees on the CPU and 73.58 in the room. This seems perfectly OK w/ me.. however I'm worried about the summer time. My room can easily reach temps of 83 degrees. Wo...

I believe there are many circumstances to bear in mind. Attatching the fan to the heatsink is a very effective way of cooling the sink because all of the airflow is directed towards the process of dissipating heat from the CPU. Using non-HS mounted fans (such as w/ a Zalman bracket) posistioned to b...

A better option, at least for a hack like me, is to use a 7406 to crank out pulses. one cap and 2 resistors gets you all you need. Fanman... as you know, I'm a learning these electronics ;) You should see my soldering techniques! Is there any way you could post a more detailed article w/ schematic,...

I tried rubber grommets without doing above before and had to give up due to lots of torn rubber grommets, etc. Since Aluminum is not the easiet material to work with when bending to correct shape is involved I've been holding off on EAR HDD. Maybe some of adventurers can give us news on it. I just...

Tricking a "Safe" BIOS
First and foremost, I've pretty much completed my mod on the Antec 3U20 Rackmount case.. One of my largest problems is the computer not being able to powerup if I don't have something which rotates >= 3500 RPM in the CPU header... I've got around this problem by plugging a 40mm AMD Fan in the header...

I was thinking I could wire a resistor inline with the 12v power lead to reduce the voltage. Does anyone have any experience with this? Kreesto One way I went about this was soldering a few (6) 1N4001 Diodes together (each giving a 0.7v forward voltage drop), then insultating the thing and attatchi...

If you're in the other window ordering mounts from SA, I guess there's no sense in me supplying you ;) .. but let me know if you still need them! Also, I wasn't able to see what model # + material the mounts at SA are. I'm assuming they are the F-344 ... although they may be the F-345 which has a sm...

Grounding the drives to the bracket isn't necessary. They're already grounded via both the power connection and the IDE. If there is an internal short one of 42 ground wires in those cables will carry it. The only protection you lose by not having it grounded to the case is protection against an ex...

Thats about 30p a unit. all done. thats a good bit less than the uk price for even 1000 units, hence if you guys can buy direct from the supplier then it may well be cheaper to get them sent over for t...

My diobus is controlling all 5 fans. Contrary to what you think, connecting the fans in parallel will not result in any drop. Connecting them in series, however, will result in a drop. Re: Let's light this candle!
For the good of others & yourself, I'd recommened removing the word "if" from the above statement.. build a spare or 2 to send out to the reviewers ( IF you can line them up.. )fancontrol wrote:If I have a spare I may look into sending it to Tom's or someplace else.
