Why do you all speak of mini-ninjas? ... with that 200mm fan up there and a normal ninja you could probably cool a QX6800 semi-passive without taking further action I liken it to correct PSU sizing with weight replacing wattage :) Ok, weight isn't that big an issue, but I prefer a light CPU cooler ...

Re: What about taking simply a 8600 GTS and upscaling ?

Excuse me for not being knowledgeable about 1080i/p, but would it actually be necessary to upscale with an 8600 GTS? The 8600 GTS supports 2560×1600 over HDCP-compliant dual-DVI. The 8800 GTX lacks the VP2 video processing engine of the 8600 GTS, and can't support HDCP over both DVI links according...

Thanks for catching my misteak, Huey. I must have been thinking of another brand's modular line. Not at all. Antec EarthWatts & Neo HE

The Neo HE is just an EarthWatts with modular cables and a different paintjob. I wouldn't pay $15 more for it. There is considerable difference according to Antec's power supply comparison chart ( PDF ): the EarthWatts has ±5% load regulation compared to ±3% on the Neo HE , two +12V outputs again...

P35 fab process & power consumption (from The Tech Repor

From The Tech Report : Perhaps the most surprising attribute of the ICH9R is the fact that the chip's being fabbed using relatively pedestrian 130nm process technology. With Intel apparently mastering 65nm production for its Core 2 line and already pushing 45nm for Penryn, we'd expected a process sh...
